Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 31

(We will give her her reward twice), associating the reward with the pronoun (her) indicates the significance of the reward, which is fitting for her honorable status and well deserved. Multiplying the reward for their obedience is a way of honoring their status. Ibn Ashur: 22/5.
Question: In light of this verse, describe the status of the Prophet's (ﷺ) wives.

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 32

Allah has favored them over other women on the condition of piety. Since they had attained piety, they received the preference, except Fatima, the Messenger's (ﷺ) daughter, Mary, the daughter of Imran, and Asiya, Pharaoh's wife, because of the testimony of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for each one of them that she was the chief of the women of her world. Ibn Juzay: 2/188.
Question: What is the condition for preferring the Mothers of the believers over other women? Who else had this distinction?

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 32

The sound heart has no desire for that which Allah has prohibited and can hardly be moved or stirred to desire even when there is a reason for that, because it is free of sickness. This is in contrast to the one who is sick at heart, who cannot cope with that which the sound-hearted person can cope with, and who cannot be patient like him. If there is the slightest reason that calls him to that which is prohibited, he will respond to it and will not refrain from it. Al-Saadi: 664.
Question: Why is the sick heart singled out for mention?

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 32

Since Allah forbids women to speak softly, it may be thought that they are instructed to make their voices harsh. In order to ward off this notion, Allah says: (But speak in an appropriate manner), speak with a tone that is not harsh nor rough, just as it is not soft and alluring. Al-Saadi: 664
Question: The verse ends with: (But speak in an appropriate manner), why?

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 33

It was said to Sauda bint Zam'a (i), a wife of the Prophet's (ﷺ): How come you do not go out? She replied: Allah commanded us to abide in our houses. Another wife of the Prophet's (ﷺ), Aisha bint Abi Bakr (i) used to weep whenever she read this verse because she participated in the battle of the Camel. Ibn Juzay: 2/188.
Question: How did the Mothers of the believers abide by this verse?

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 33

This is a clear statement that the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) are included among the members of his family (Ahl Al-Bayt) here, because they were the reason for revealing this verse, and the scholars unanimously agreed that they were the reason for the revelation in this case. Ibn Kathir: 3/465.
Question: How does this verse nullify the Shia’s views on defining who Ahl Al-Bayt was?

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 35

Fasting is also one of the greatest means of overcoming one's desires, it is quite apt that it should be mentioned next, (the men and the women who guard their chastity). Ibn Kathir: 3/469.
Question: Guarding chastity is mentioned right after fasting in this verse. Why?
