Yusuf Verses 0 - 5

(Do not relate your vision to your brothers), this is said by father of Joseph (u) because he knew that Joseph's vision meant he would attain high rank in life, so his father was worried about him being envied by his brothers. Ibn Juzay: 1/410.

From this, one should hide the prospects or the coming of a bounty until it comes into existence and becomes known. Ibn Kathir: 2/450.
Question: If Allah grants you a bounty, when should you expose it? When should you hide it?

Yusuf Verses 0 - 5

In authentic Hadith, it is narrated that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "When one of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah; he should praise Allah for it and relate it to [others]. And if he sees one which he dislikes, then it is from satan; he should seek refuge with Allah against its evil and should not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him." Jabir (t) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "When one of you sees a bad dream let him blow three times on his left, seek refuge with Allah from satan three times, and change the side on which he was lying." Al-Alusi: 12/514.
Question: What is the guidance of the Prophet (ﷺ) in dealing with dreams?

Yusuf Verses 0 - 7

For everyone who shows interest and asks, as those who enquire are the ones who benefit from the signs and lessons. As for those who turn away, they will not benefit from signs, stories or explanations. Al-Saadi: 394.
Question: Those who ask are singled out to benefit from the signs. Why?

Yusuf Verses 0 - 9

Their plot is a sign of low morals, which is eliminating the contest against the best by killing him. This is the most heinous crime because it involves envy, causing harm to others, and violating Allah's command of preserving human soul. But they were religious individuals who were raised in a house of Prophethood, and Allah reformed their lives afterward and called them "Al-Asbat." Ibn Ashur: 12/223.
Question: The attitude of Joseph's brothers was an example of how far envy can lead a person. Explain the lesson learned.

Yusuf Verses 0 - 9

They had the intention of repentance before committing the sin, so as to make it easy for them to do it, and reduce the impact of its abhorrent nature, and so that they would encourage one another. Al-Saadi: 394.
Question: The verse mentions a trick of satan that he uses against righteous people. What is it?

Yusuf Verses 0 - 9

One sin may lead to many other sins; one sin cannot be committed unless many others were committed before it. When the brothers of Joseph wanted to separate him from his father, they used various kinds of tricks to achieve that; they told lies on several occasions, and they forged the evidence of the bloodstained shirt and came at nightfall weeping in order to deceive their father. Al-Saadi: 408.
Question: One sin may lead to many other sins. Discuss this in light of this verse.
