Al-Lail Verses 18 - 19

This verse contains guidance to the righteous that he should not be accepting favors from others and endure their reminders, but if he does, then, he should hasten to requite them so that he is free of their favors, and his deeds become completely devoted to Allah, not as a return for favors. Ibn Al-Qayim: 3/326.
Question: What should the righteous do when he receives favors from others? Why?

Al-Lail Verses 19 - 21

Meaning: He should not do a good deed as a return for someone's favors in the past, rather, from the outset, he should do it for the sake of Allah. Ibn Juzay: 2/580.
Question: Allah makes a condition for the spender to receive His pleasure. What is it?

Ad-Duha Verses 3 - 4

Meaning: The Hereafter is better for you than the present life, and you chose the former over the latter, and therefore, your Lord will never forsake you. This serves as a guidance to the believers to that which brings them closer to Allah, and a rebuke to the polytheists for clinging to this worldly life and turning away from the Hereafter. Al-Alusi: 15/379.
Question: What is the quality of a servant who is close to his Lord? Explain in light of this verse.

Ad-Duha Verses 0 - 10

This includes those who ask for money and those who ask for knowledge. Hence, teachers are enjoined to treat learners kindly, gently and with compassion, for this will help the learner to achieve his goal, and it reflects kindness toward the one who is striving to benefit the people and the homeland. Al-Saadi: 928.
Question: Is the prohibited repulsion limited to a beggar who asks for money only? Explain.

Ad-Duha Verses 0 - 11

Speaking of the blessings of Allah prompts one to give thanks for them, and leads to the love of the One Who bestowed those blessings, for people are naturally inclined to love the one who does favors. Al-Saadi: 929.
Question: How can speaking of the blessings of Allah become a reason for increasing the faith?

Ad-Duha Verses 0 - 11

Speaking about Allah's blessings is in itself showing gratitude for them. Some righteous predecessors liked for one to speak about his good deeds, without intending to show off, if he knew that others may emulate him. Al-Alusi: 15/383.
Question: The believers are enjoined to speak about Allah's blessings. Why?

Ash-Sharh Verses 0 - 1

The breast is singled out for mention because it is the place of awareness and cognition. Meaning: Reminding the Prophet (ﷺ) of opening and expanding his breast so that he could convey the Message, and carry out the burden of Prophethood and preserving the revelation. Al-Shawkani: 5/461.
Question: The breast is singled out for mention in this verse, why? What is meant by that?
