The right way is Islam's way and obedience to Allah. This means that if people had remained straight on that, Allah would have bestowed abundant provisions on them. It is similar to this verse, (And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened [bestowed] upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth)[7:96]. Ibn Juzay: 2/497.
Question: In light of this verse, describe the end result for people in this life when they remain steadfast on the right way.
Omar (t) said: "Wherever there is water, there is wealth, and wherever there is wealth, there is a trial. Likening great provision to abundant water because all goodness and provisions are the result of rain, hence, it is expressed as such." Al-Qurtubi: 21/295.
Question: Why is water mentioned in this verse?
Meaning: Dedicate the mosques to Allah's remembrance, and do not make them places for your mockery, trading, sitting, or roadways. Do not share the mosques of Allah with anyone else. Al-Qurtubi: 21/300.
Question: Mosques are dedicated by Allah for one thing only. What is it?
This implies a great warning and entrusting all affairs to Allah that He, the Almighty, would recompense him for his righteous deeds and punish them for their evil deeds. Al-Alusi: 15/105.
Question: What are the implications of negating benefit and harm by the Prophet (ﷺ)?
Meaning: There is no one I would take as a refuge could rescue me from the punishment of Allah. If the Messenger (ﷺ), who is the most perfect of all people, has no power to cause harm or bring benefit, and cannot ward off from himself any ill that Allah may intend for him, then it is even more applicable to other humans. Al-Saadi: 891.
Question: This verse indicates the misguidance of those whose hearts are attached to the righteous. Explain.
Here, the messengers are from both: Angels and men. Ibn Kathir: 4/43.
Question: Does revealing some of the unseen limited to human messengers? Do angels know the unseen?
Meaning: Allah's knowledge of all things is not in a general way, rather, it is to the smallest details, which means that He knows each one of His creations in a specific way. Al-Shawkani: 5/313.
Question: Is Allah's knowledge general or is it detailed?
