Meaning: We will bring them to punishment step by step by giving them respite, keeping them healthy, and increasing our blessings upon them in ways that they do not perceive that will lead them to their doom. Rather, they claim they are being favored over the believers, even though it will lead to their ruin. Al-Alusi: 15/41.
Question: What is the sign of Allah's allurement to the deniers?
Sufyan Al-Thawri said: We increase our blessings upon them and make them forget to be grateful. Alhasan said: How many persons are led to their ruin by blessings, how many smitten persons by compliments, and how many deluded persons because they are shielded from people's eyes. Abu Roq said: Every time they sin, We renew a blessing for them, and make them forget to seek forgiveness. In a Prophetic Hadith: A man from the Children of Israel said: "O Lord, how much I disobey You but do not punish me!" So, Allah revealed to the Prophet of their times saying: Say to him: "How much I punish you while you do not perceive; the dryness of your eyes and hardness of the heart are allurement and punishment from me if you only understand." Al-Qurtubi: 21/180.
Question: What is meant by the gradual leading mentioned in this verse?
He was Jonah (u), and is called the Man of the Whale because the whale swallowed him. His story is mentioned in Surat Al-Anbiya and Surat As-Saffat. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was forbidden from emulating him in wearisome and hastiness when he went off in anger. Ibn Juzay: 2/494.
Question: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was forbidden from emulating something. What is it?
Meaning: If it was not for Allah's protection of you, they would have harmed you by gazing at you with their envious eyes due to their hatred of you. This verse proves that the effect of the evil eye is real by the command of Allah. Ibn Kathir: 4/408.
Question: It is inferred from this verse that evil eye may cause harm. Explain.

Everyone understands the Quran at the level that is made easy for him by Allah. Al-Biqai: 20/336.
Question: Why do we not become bored when we recite the Holy Quran?
