٢ ٢ ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮ ﭯ ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ﭳ
ﭴ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ ٣ ٣ ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ
ﮁ ﮂ ﮃ ﮄ ﮅ ﮆ ٤ ٤ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ
ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ﮓ
ﮔ ٥ ٥ ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ
٦ ٦ ﮟ ﮠ ﮡ ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ ﮦ ٧ ٧ ﮨ ﮩ
ﮪ ﮫ ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ ٨ ٨
ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ
ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ﯩ ٩ ٩ ﯫ ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ﯴ
ﯵ ١٠ ١٠ ﯷ ﯸ ﯹ ﯺ ﯻ ١١ ١١ ﯽ
ﯾ ﯿ ﰀ ﰁ ﰂ ﰃ ﰄ ﰅ ١٢ ١٢
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ ١
Allah governs all affairs; He sets forth what He wills with His Power while nothing can prevent Him, and to Him, there is no equivalent. Al-Biqai: 20/217.
Question: The hearts find tranquility in relying upon Allah. Why?
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٢
(Best in deeds): Fudhail bin Iyadh said: A correct and sincere deed. Deeds will not be accepted unless they are correct and sincere. Al-Baghawi: 4/435
Question: What is the meant by (Best in deeds)?
ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيۡنِ يَنقَلِبۡ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئٗا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٞ ٤
It was commanded to look twice, because when a person looks at something once, he does not see its defect unless he looks at it again. Al-Qurtubi: 21/116.
Question: Why is it commanded to look up at the heavens again?
وَلَقَدۡ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا رُجُومٗا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ ٥
Qatadah said: Allah created stars for three purposes: Adornment of the heavens, missiles to stone the devils, and a compass to navigate the Earth. Ibn Juzay: 2/494.
Question: List the benefits of stars.
تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيۡظِۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلۡقِيَ فِيهَا فَوۡجٞ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِيرٞ ٨
This verse proves that Allah does not punish anyone with Fire unless warned beforehand in this worldly life. Al-Shanqiti: 8/233.
Question: What is indicated by the question: (Did there not come to you a warner?) by the keepers of the Hellfire to its dwellers?
وَقَالُواْ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ ١٠
The mention of hearing precedes that of reason because those who are warned receive the call of the warner first, and then use reason to reflect on it. Ibn Ashur: 29/28.
Question: The mention of hearing precedes that of reason. Why?
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَأَجۡرٞ كَبِيرٞ ١٢
The mention of forgiveness takes precedence as reassurance to their hearts because they fear accountability for their disbelief before Islam, minor sins and the like. Then, it is followed by good tidings of great reward, thus the statement follows the rule that says: Purification of the soul comes before beautification. Ibn Ashur: 29/29.
Question: In this verse, the mention of forgiveness precedes that of the great reward. Why?
