At-Taghabun Verses 0 - 1

يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ ١

The praise of all creatures in the heavens and earth is to Allah because all of them receive goodness only from Him and none can provide provision for them except Him. Hence, all of their praise is due to Him. Al-Tabari: 23/415.
Question: The praise of all creatures in the heavens and earth is to Allah. Why?

At-Taghabun Verses 0 - 3

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمۡ فَأَحۡسَنَ صُوَرَكُمۡۖ وَإِلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ ٣

It is said that Allah created man in the best form among all creatures, as indicated by the fact that he does not wish for a different form out of what he sees around him. The beauty of his form is that he is created to stand upright, not facing downward. Al-Qurtubi: 21/9.
Question: What is meant by (and shaped you and perfected your forms)?

At-Taghabun Verses 0 - 4

وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ٤

Since Allah knows well what is in our hearts, it is essential for the wise person to be keen and strive to guard his inner thoughts from bad attitudes, and to acquire good characteristics. Al-Saadi: 866.
Question: What is the benefit of knowing that Allah is All-Knowing of what is in the hearts?

At-Taghabun Verses 0 - 5

أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَبَؤُاْ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ فَذَاقُواْ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ ٥

Allah likens their punishment to something that tastes bad to be tasted and swallowed, for tasting by tongue is more intense than touching by hand or skin. Ibn Ashur: 28/268.
Question: Allah describes the disbelievers when taking the punishment as tasting. Why?

At-Taghabun Verses 0 - 7

زَعَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَن لَّن يُبۡعَثُواْۚ قُلۡ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي لَتُبۡعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلۡتُمۡۚ وَذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٞ ٧

What is commonly considered "difficult" for people is never as such for Allah. Allah says, (And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it, and that is easier for Him) [30:27]. Ibn Ashur: 28/272.
Question: The verse describes the resurrection as (easy). Why?

At-Taghabun Verses 0 - 9

يَوۡمَ يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡجَمۡعِۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمُ ٱلتَّغَابُنِۗ

Those who will lose their families and their dwellings in Paradise suffer a great loss. On that Day, the great loss of every disbeliever who neglected faith will manifest; moreover, every believer will feel a great loss for his shortcomings. Al-Alusi: 14/319.
Question: The Day of Resurrection is called the Day of great loss. Why?

At-Taghabun Verses 0 - 9

يَوۡمَ يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡجَمۡعِۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمُ ٱلتَّغَابُنِۗ

(The Day of great loss), the Day of Resurrection. The Arabic word, "Taghabun" is derived from when people trade with each other; a person's incurring loss in business and another's gaining a profit. So, when those who are destined for bliss enter Paradise, they will take over the dwellings of those who are wretched, which would have been theirs had they been of the believers. Ibn Juzay: 2/452.
Question: How will the great loss occur on the Day of Resurrection?
