ﮈ ٣٨ ٣٨ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ ٣٩ ٣٩ ﮑ ﮒ
ﮓ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ ٤٠ ٤٠ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ
ﮟ ٤١ ٤١ ﮡ ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ٤٢ ٤٢
ﮫ ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ ٤٣ ٤٣ ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ
ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ٤٤ ٤٤ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ
ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ٤٥ ٤٥ ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ﯩ ﯪ ﯫ ﯬ ﯭ
ﯮ ٤٦ ٤٦ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ﯴ ٤٧ ٤٧ ﯶ
ﯷ ﯸ ﯹ ٤٨ ٤٨ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ ﯿ
ﰀ ﰁ ٤٩ ٤٩ ﰃ ﰄ ﰅ ﰆ ﰇ ﰈ ﰉ ﰊ ﰋ ٥٠ ٥٠
ﰍ ﰎ ﰏ ﰐ ﰑ ﰒ ﰓ ﰔ ﰕ ﰖ ﰗ ﰘ ٥١ ٥١
۞قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ٣١
Abraham (u) asked them after he provided them with food. He followed the customary way of not asking guests about their objectives until they were ready to leave, so they would not feel unwelcome and to provide help if possible when needed. Ibn Ashur: 27/5.
Question: Abraham (u) asked the angels after he provided them with food. Why?
فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِيهَا غَيۡرَ بَيۡتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ ٣٦
(But We only found in it one Muslim household), Qatadah said: If there was more than one household, Allah would have saved them so that they would know that Allah protects the faith, and that the faithful would never be forsaken. Al-Tabari: 22/430.
Question: Faith has a great value for the household. Explain.
وَتَرَكۡنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ ٣٧
This verse indicates that the signs of Allah and the wonders that He created in this world have traces pointing to Him and to the truthfulness of His Messengers, benefit only those who believe in the resurrection and fear Allah's punishment. Those who do not believe in the Hereafter would say: These doomed people were only destroyed by time, like others before them had, for time is the giver of happiness and misery. But, those who believe in the Hereafter and are apprehensive of it benefit from these signs and admonishments. Ibn Al-Qayim: 3/49-50.
Question: Who benefits from the narrations and admonishments of the Quran?
فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مِن قِيَامٖ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنتَصِرِينَ ٤٥
They were unable to arise after the punishment struck them, nor could they rise afterward. Qatadah said: They did not come up after the punishment. (Nor could they defend themselves), Qatadah said: They did not have the power to defend themselves against Allah. Al-Baghawi: 4/233.
Question: In light of this verse, how do you understand this Prophetic Hadith: "Allah gives respite to the oppressor. But when He seizes him, He does not let him escape"?
وَمِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ ٤٩
The aim of taking heed is remembering all that is mentioned about the Last Day gathering and resurrection because the One Who is capable of creating all that is certainly capable of resurrecting the dead on the Day of Resurrection. Al-Alusi: 27/27.
Question: This verse indicates Allah’s capability to resurrect the dead. How?
فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ ٥٠
Ordinary people flee from ignorance to knowledge willfully and hastily, from idleness to revitalization cautiously but firmly, and from hardship to prosperity with confidence and hope. Al-Biqai: 18/447.
Question: How do people flee to Allah?
فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ ٥٠
Allah describes turning to Him as fleeing, because turning to anyone other than Him will result in all kinds of fearful outcomes and troubles, whereas turning to Him leads to all that one loves, security, joy, happiness and triumph. The servant would flee from Allah's Divine Will and Decree to His Divine Will and Decree. Al-Saadi: 812.
Question: Allah describes turning to Him as fleeing. Why?
