As-Sajdah Verses 0 - 22

(And who does greater wrong), no one has done more wrong to himself than (one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord), His signs and proofs, (then turns away from them) by rejecting them, (We will surely take vengeance upon the criminals) for their rejection and turning away. Al-Qurtubi: 17/40-41.
Question: Describe the risk of turning away from the Allah's admonishments, and its consequences?

As-Sajdah Verses 0 - 24

This points to the qualities a preacher should acquire, such as being patient with the hardships of the worship, enduring calamities with patience, refraining patiently from worldly temptations, and believing with certainty in the signs. Whoever claims to be a preacher without acquiring these qualities, is misguided. Al-Alusi: 11/139.
Question: How can a preacher become a leader of guidance?

As-Sajdah Verses 0 - 24

Sufyan was asked about the saying of Ali bin Abi Talib (t): "Patience to the faith is like the head to a body," he replied: You have not heard what Allah says, (and We made some of them leaders, guiding by Our command when they observed patience), then, he says: "When they took the head of the matter, they became heads themselves." Ibn Kathir: 3/446.
Question: From where did Ali bin Abi Talib (t) draw this meaning: "Patience to the faith is like the head to a body"?

As-Sajdah Verses 0 - 24

(When they observed patience), We made them leaders because they were patient with the duties of the religion, and endured trials. Moreover, it is said that they refrain patiently from worldly temptations. Al-Qurtubi: 17/43.
Question: What is meant by patience in this verse?

As-Sajdah Verses 0 - 26

(Indeed in that are), in what is mentioned of Our destruction of past insolent nations, or in their remaining dwellings. (Signs): Great in themselves and numerous. (Then do they not listen) to these verses while reflecting and taking heed. Al-Alusi: 11/136.
Question: What is the benefit of mentioning the news of past nations?

As-Sajdah Verses 0 - 29

Those who claim that this refers to the conquest of Makkah went too far, and have made a grievous mistake, for on the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) accepted those who became Muslims of the freed prisoners-of-war, who numbered nearly two thousand. If what was meant by this verse was the conquest of Makkah, he would not have accepted them, because Allah says: (Say, "On the Day of Fath the belief of those who disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be given any respite"). Hence, what is meant by Al-Fath here is Judgement. Ibn Kathir: 3/447.
Question: What is meant by Al-Fath in this verse?

As-Sajdah Verses 0 - 30

Turn away from their foolishness, and reply to them as you have been commanded, (and wait, indeed, they are waiting), wait for the day of Fath; when Allah decides for you against them. Al-Qurtubi: 17/46.
Question: Describe the style of the Quran in dealing with the deniers?
