Al-Furqan Verses 0 - 23

وَقَدِمۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُواْ مِنۡ عَمَلٖ فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ هَبَآءٗ مَّنثُورًا ٢٣

Ibn Al-Mubarak said: "These will be the deeds that were not intended for the sake of Allah." Mujahid said: "These will be the deeds that were not accepted by Allah."Ibn Taimyah: 5/12.
Question: Performing good deeds without being sincere to Allah is risky. Explain

Al-Furqan Verses 0 - 26

ٱلۡمُلۡكُ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡحَقُّ لِلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ

Something that offers reassurance and comfort to the heart is the fact that Allah connected His dominion to His name (the Most Gracious), Whose grace and mercy encompass all things. Allah created man weak, but He honored him in order to perfect His blessing, and shower him with His mercy. They all will be brought to stand before Him in humility, they will be motionless with fear before Him, waiting for judgement to be passed upon them, and waiting to see what will happen to them. But, Allah is more merciful toward them than their parents, or even their own selves, so how do you think He will deal with them? Al-Saadi: 582.
Question: The sovereignty on the Day of Resurrection is attributed to Allah's Name, the Most Merciful. What does that indicate?

Al-Furqan Verses 0 - 27

وَيَوۡمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيۡهِ يَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي ٱتَّخَذۡتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلٗا ٢٧

Whoever seeks the people's pleasure by Allah's wrath, will not avail him at all against Allah, just like the wrongdoer who will bite on his hands [in regret] saying, (Oh, I wish I had taken a way with the Messenger ` Woe to me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so as a close friend). Ibn Taimyah: 5/12.
Question: Whoever seeks the people's pleasure by Allah's wrath, they will not avail him at all against Allah. Substantiate that.

Al-Furqan Verses 28 - 29

يَٰوَيۡلَتَىٰ لَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أَتَّخِذۡ فُلَانًا خَلِيلٗا ٢٨ لَّقَدۡ أَضَلَّنِي عَنِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ بَعۡدَ إِذۡ جَآءَنِيۗ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ خَذُولٗا ٢٩

This indicates that trusting a close friend is of the essence, and his advice is taken at face value; therefore, one should not place his trust in anyone except when he is certain of being safe from bad advice. Ibn Ashur: 19/14.
Question: In view of this verse, explain the importance of advising between close friends.

Al-Furqan Verses 0 - 29

لَّقَدۡ أَضَلَّنِي عَنِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ بَعۡدَ إِذۡ جَآءَنِيۗ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ خَذُولٗا ٢٩

Meaning: By Allah (He led me away from the remembrance), he obscured my sight, and turned me away from the path of the Quran, like which there is no other remembrance. Al-Biqai: 13/375.
Question: What are the signs of a bad companion?

Al-Furqan Verses 0 - 31

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلۡنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوّٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيٗا وَنَصِيرٗا ٣١

In effect, Allah says to His Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): Just like you had an enemy from the polytheists of your people, We, similarly, made for every prophet, before you, an enemy from among the polytheists of his people, hence, you are not singled out for that; so be patient, as our Messengers of Firm Resolve were patient before you. Al-Tabari: 19/265.
Question:  Facing trials is a sign of the truthfulness of those who call others to Allah. Explain in view of the verse.

Al-Furqan Verses 0 - 32

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ جُمۡلَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَۖ وَرَتَّلۡنَٰهُ تَرۡتِيلٗا ٣٢

(In this way so that We may strengthen your heart thereby), this is an answer to them, saying: We have revealed it over stages to strengthen Muhammad’s (ﷺ) heart. Moreover, it came down at different events that entail each part is revealed for a specific reason. Also, the abrogator and abrogated verses in the Quran had to be revealed separately. (And We have revealed it in a gradual manner), separated by intervals over twenty three years. Ibn Juzay: 2/107.
Question: Mention some of the benefits of revealing the Quran over stages.
