The verse states that most of them do not know, which indicates that some of them know [the truth] but deny it out of arrogance. Ibn Ashur: 11/200.
Question: The verse states that most of them do not know, but not all. Why?
(A cure for [sickness] of the hearts), that is a cure for ignorance and doubts. Ibn Juzay: 1/382.
Question: Why is the Quran a cure for the sickness of the hearts?
Allah describes the Quran with four attributes, which are the foundations of its perfection and features: An exhortation, a cure for [sickness] of the hearts, a guidance, and mercy. Ibn Ashur: 11/201.
Question: The Quran is described with four attributes, which are the foundations of its perfection. What are they?
(A cure for [sickness] of the hearts), a cure for doubts, hypocrisy, differences and disputes. (A guidance) a guide for its followers. (And mercy) a blessing. (For the believers), they are singled out because they benefit from faith. Al-Qurtubi: 11/10.
Question: Does every one benefit from the exhortation of the Quran and its cure?
Allah enjoins us to rejoice in His grace and mercy, because that is something that will result in feeling at ease, energized and grateful to Allah, and feeling a sense of power and eagerness to pursue knowledge and faith, which will motivate one to seek more of them. Al-Saadi: 367.
Question: Allah enjoins us to rejoice in His grace and mercy. Why?
(Yet most of them are ungrateful), either they do not show gratitude for the blessings or they use them for sinful purposes, or they regard some of them as prohibited, and they reject what Allah has bestowed of His favors upon His servants. Al-Saadi: 367.
Question: What are the ways of being ungrateful to the favors of Allah?
Here Allah states that He is watching and seeing all that people do, when they are moving, and when they are resting. This is an implicit call to remember that He is always watching. Therefore,, remember that Allah is watching all your deeds, hence do them with sincerity while striving hard. Beware of doing what Allah dislikes, for He is watching you, and He knows what you disclose and what you conceal. Al-Saadi: 367-368.
Question: Allah states that his knowledge encompasses everything. Why?
