The subject of abrogation is very important and indispensable to scholars; only ignorant fools deny it. Its importance lies in its effect on rulings on controversial issues and its role in recognizing the lawful and the unlawful. Al-Qurtubi: 2/300.
Question: Knowing the subject of abrogation is important for anyone who infers rules from the Quran and Islamic teachings. Why?
Whoever believes that Allah is his ally and defender and that there is no protector or supporter for him except Allah, will certainly know that everything Allah does is for his benefit; therefore, he entrusts all matters to Him. Al-Alusi: 1/354.
Question: What is the benefit to one who believes that Allah is his ally and supporter?
This refers to questions raised due to stubbornness or objections, however, asking for the sake of guidance and understanding is praiseworthy and is enjoined by Allah. Al-Saadi: 62.
Question: When is raising questions about Islamic teachings considered good? When is it censured?
(Many of the people of the Book wish), this verse came down explaining the situation of a Jewish leader (Huyay Ibn Akhtab) and his brother (Abu Yassir) and other Jews who were full of envy toward Muslims and tried, out of envy, to turn them away from their faith. Ibn Juzay: 1/78.
Question: What do you think about one who belittles the enmity of Jews and Christians toward Muslims, and accuses Muslims of believing in the theory of "global conspiracy"?
(On the contrary, whoever submits his face [himself] to Allah), means: He is sincere to Allah. (And he is a doer of good), means: He follows the Messenger (r). For there are two conditions for deeds to be accepted; the deed must be performed for Allah's sake alone and conform to Sharia. When a deed is performed sincerely, but does not conform to Sharia, then it will not be accepted. Ibn Kathir: 1/147.
Question: What are the conditions for accepting good deeds? What is the proof for that?
(Whoever submits himself to Allah), means that he is sincere to Allah alone in his deeds, and turns to Him with all his heart, (and) in addition to his sincerity, he (is a doer of good) with regard to worshiping his Lord, in that he worships Him as He has prescribed. Those who maintain these two attributes will be the sole people of Paradise. From this, we may understand that whoever is not like that will be among the doomed people of Hellfire, for there is no salvation except for those who are sincere to Allah and follow the Messenger (r). Al-Saadi: 64.
Question: A deed that is performed only to show off or that which is not done in accordance with Sharia is rejected. Why?
Only he who submits his face to Allah will enter Paradise, which means: Sincerely devotes his religion to Allah, or he who sincerely worships Allah, or he who is subservient and humble to Allah. The essence of Islam is submission. The (face) is mentioned because when he submits his face in prostration, all of his limbs will follow. Al-Baghawi: 1/93.
Question: Who is entitled to enter Paradise by the grace of Allah?
