An-Nisa Verses 0 - 66

Allah states that if He were to instruct them to do something that people find very difficult, such as killing themselves or leaving their homes, none would do it except a few of them. Therefore, they should be grateful to Him that what He has instructed them to do is easy for everyone, and is not difficult to do. This indicates that one should think of the hardships and difficulties that Allah could have put him through, so that he will realize that the enjoined acts of worship are in fact very easy. Al-Saadi: 185.
Question: How do you deduce from this verse the ease and tolerance of Sharia?

An-Nisa Verses 0 - 66

Allah states that, by His grace, He did not prescribe this for us, lest our sins become apparent, for how many lighter instructions we fell short of fulfilling, so how will it be with this hard one? But by Allah, the immigrant Companions left their homes desolate in search of a pleasant life. Al-Qurtubi: 6/446.
Question: Explain how Allah, graciously, did not burden His servants with hard duties.

An-Nisa Verses 0 - 66

If a servant practices what he knows, Allah will grant him knowledge of what he does not know, as He says, (But if they did what they were instructed, it would surely be better for them and more reassuring). Ibn Taimyah: 2/293.
Question: Practicing the knowledge is a reason for gaining more of it. Explain in light of this verse.

An-Nisa Verses 0 - 70

Meaning: This great bounty comes from Allah, and not anyone else; or it comes from Allah and not merited by the deeds of the servants. (And sufficient is Allah as Knower): He Knows the reward of those who obey Him, the measure of the bounty, and the merit of its recipients. Al-Alusi: 5/79.
Question: What is inferred from describing Allah as (The Knower)? What is its effect?

An-Nisa Verses 0 - 70

This affirms that they did not attain this bounty through their obedience, but by the grace of Allah Almighty. Al-Baghawi: 1/560.
Question: Did the believers attain this bounty through their obedience?

An-Nisa Verses 0 - 72

(He who lingers behind) that is: He is reluctant to engage in Jihad due to his weak faith or hypocrisy, and he orders others to do so with an emphatic command, showing compassion for them, which is the essence of deception, as this lingering results in weakness causing enemy's baldness that leads to the eventual demise of Muslims. Al-Biqai: 2/278.
Question: If one lingers behind and not participate in Jihad or doing good, what will that lead to?

An-Nisa Verses 0 - 72

Meaning: He discourages others from participating in Jihad. It is also said that he himself is reluctant to engage in Jihad. (And if disaster strikes you) such as death and defeat. This hypocrite is pleased to be absent from the believers if they are defeated. Ibn Juzay: 1/198.
Question: This verse reveals two traits of hypocrites. What are they ?
