There will not be a wish that Allah does not grant them even though they are aware of His overall bounty. Allah, the Almighty, is not obligated to do anything for anyone, and no one reveres Him His true reverence. If He were to take people to task for their wrongdoing, they would be doomed. The greatest blessing he bestowed upon them was making them the followers of His Messenger, and that was the cause of all the good they receive. Al-Biqai: 22/198.
Question: What is the meaning of (and they are pleased with Him)?
Fear of Allah is the basis of true happiness and a means to attain high ranks with Allah, without which no one will refrain from sins or become ready for a day when people are seized by their forelocks and their feet. Al-Alusi: 15/431.
Question: What is the meaning of the fear of Allah?
Whoever fears his Lord as such, will abstain from everything that is unsuitable for Allah's Majesty, and will not revile or reject His Message. A heart devoid of fear is a ruined one. Al-Biqai: 22/199.
Question: What is the sign of the servant's fear of Allah?
The earth will testify concerning people and what they did on its surface of good or evil. The earth will be among the witnesses who will testify concerning people's deeds. Al-Saadi: 932.
Question: What is the practical behavior we learn from this verse?
When witnessing the recompense on the Day of Resurrection, everyone will be blaming himself. If he is a doer of good, will say: Why did I not increase my good deeds? And if is otherwise, will say: Why did I not refrain from sins? Ibn Abbas said: They will be separated into groups according to their deeds. Al-Qurtubi: 22/437.
Question: What is the wisdom behind showing people their deeds on the Day of Resurrection?
The atom is a tiny ant. (Will see it), he will be recompensed for it. The mention of an atom's weight is to indicate that he will surely be recompensed for what is bigger than that; as if saying: Whoever does a little or plenty, will be recompensed for it. Ibn Juzay: 2/600.
Question: What does the mention of an atom's weight indicate?
Anas narrated that Allah's Messenger said: "Allah does not wrong a believer any of his good deeds because he is given provision for them in this world and will be rewarded for them in the Hereafter. The disbeliever, however, is given in the world the reward for good deeds, but on the Day of Resurrection, there will be no good deeds for which he can be rewarded." Al-Tabari: 24/553.
Question: Allah is Just Who does not wrong anyone; the disbeliever who does good deeds will not find his deeds on the Day of Resurrection. How?
