At-Tariq Verses 0 - 9

Meaning: All man's hidden intents will appear, whether good or evil and his faith or disbelief, as Ibn Omar (k) said: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will reveal every secret and it will appear on the faces as either good or evil. Al-Qurtubi: 22/221-214.
Question: How will man's secrets be disclosed on the Day of Resurrection?

At-Tariq Verses 0 - 9

There is a subtle meaning in referring to the deeds as (secrets). Deeds are the result of hidden intents, so whoever has righteous hidden intents, his deeds will be righteous, and his face will shine with modesty. In contrast, whoever has corrupt hidden intents, his deeds will be corrupt regardless of how they appear, and his hidden intent will cast darkness upon his face. In worldly life, only his outward deeds are visible, not his intents, but on the Day of Resurrection, his hidden intents will be dominant and visible. Ibn Al-Qayim: 3/288-289.
Question: How important is the maintaining of righteous hidden intents?

At-Tariq Verses 0 - 10

The disbeliever will have no power to ward off Allah's punishment and His painful torment, nor will he have a helper that can save him from his hardships, as was the case in worldly life when he used to reach for his tribe for protection from anyone who would harm him, or seek an ally who would help him against anyone who would wrong and persecute him. Al-Tabari: 24/359.
Question: Explain the lack of power and helper for the disbeliever on the Day of Resurrection.

At-Tariq Verses 15 - 16

So that it may be known who will prevail, for humans are too weak and insignificant to be able to resist the Almighty, the All-Knowing and His plans. Al-Saadi: 920.
Question: The disbelievers devise plans against the Muslims constantly; who do you think will win in light of this verse?

Al-A'la Verses 0 - 8

Meaning: We will make saying and doing good deeds easy for you, and We will ordain such Sharia for you that is easy, tolerant, straight and just with no deviance, difficulty or hardship. Ibn Kathir: 4/501.
Question: From this verse, draw what indicates the tolerance of Islam.

Al-A'la Verses 0 - 9

Meaning: Remind where reminding is beneficial. From here, the etiquette of spreading knowledge is learned. It should not be wasted upon those who are not suitable or worthy of it. Abdullah bin Masoud (t) said, "You do not tell people any statement that their intellects do not grasp except that it will be a trial for some of them." Ali bin Abi Talib (t) said, "Speak to the people according to their level of understanding. Do you wish that Allah and His Messenger be denied?" Ibn Kathir: 4/501.
Question: This verse (if the reminder should benefit) indicates an etiquette for a preacher. What is it?

Al-A'la Verses 9 - 10

Full remembrance entails being affected by the reminder. If one remembers something he loves, he will pursue it, and if he remembers something he fears, he will flee from it. Ibn Taimyah: 6/502.
Question: Remembrance is linked to the fear of Allah. Why?
