Al-Muzzammil Verses 0 - 1

Addressing the Prophet (ﷺ) by such description has two benefits, first: Kindness, as when an Arab wants to be friendly with another, he calls him by a name inspired by his current situation. Second: A notice to every person who is wrapped in his bed sleeping to arise to pray at night and remember Allah. Al-Qurtubi: 21/316.
Question: What is secret behind addressing the Prophet (ﷺ) by (O you who wraps himself)?

Al-Muzzammil Verses 3 - 4

If someone asks: When Allah enjoins reducing the time of the nighttime prayer, the statement (or a little less) is used, but when He enjoins the increase, the statement (or add to it) was used, and did not say "a little," but left it open? The answer is: For the increase, abundance is better, but in reduction, there has to be a limit, otherwise it may end up much less than half the night. Ibn Juzay: 2/501.
Question: Reduction is limited while increasing is open. Why?

Al-Muzzammil Verses 0 - 4

Reciting is reading slowly and distinctly with precise articulation points of the letters, which helps to reflect on the meanings of the Quran, unlike one who skims through the Quran without comprehending anything. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to recite every verse separately and distinctly; when he came to a verse that spoke of mercy, he stopped and made supplication, and when he came to a verse that spoke of punishment, he stopped and sought refuge with Allah. Ibn Juzay: 2/501.
Question: What is the benefit of reciting the Quran with measured recitation?

Al-Muzzammil Verses 0 - 6

Meaning: The night helps the mind focus on reciting and understanding more than worship during the daytime. This is because the daytime is the time for people to disperse and move about, and be noisy with matters of livelihood. Ibn Kathir: 4/436.
Question: What distinguishes the Quran recitation during the night from that during the day?

Al-Muzzammil Verses 0 - 8

In the Arabic text, the word used for (devote yourself completely to Him) is “Tabteela,” which indicates: Progression, indulgence in effort, abundance, and intensiveness. Ibn Al-Qayim: 3/212.
Question: What is the lesson learned from: (devote yourself completely to Him)?

Al-Muzzammil Verses 0 - 11

Allah describes them as (those of ease in life) to rebuke them, for they denied the truth because they were insolent and deluded by their luxurious life. Moreover, this is a warning to them that the One Who says, (And leave to Me the deniers) will remove their life of luxury. Ibn Ashur: 29/269.
Question: What is learned from describing the deniers as: (those of ease in life)?

Al-Muzzammil Verses 0 - 15

The example of Pharaoh against Moses (u) is chosen for the people of Makkah due to the similarity between them and the people of Egypt in worshiping other than Allah, and their arrogant attitude toward the Messenger who was sent to them, which led them to turn away from the Message that he brought them. Ibn Ashur: 29/273.
Question: The example of Pharaoh against Moses (u) is chosen for the people of Makkah. Why?
