At-Talaq Verses 0 - 1

(And fear Allah, your Lord), this is a warning against taking lightly the rules of divorce and waiting period, as the people during the times of ignorance did not care much for women, and the relatives of a divorced woman seldom come to her defense. Hence, people neglected and violated women's rights. That is why these verses give a stern challenge, and express observing these rights as fearing Allah and as limits set by Him. Moreover, the use of Allah's name, (your Lord) is a reminder to evade His wrath. Ibn Ashur: 28/298-299.
Question: What is the benefit of mentioning the fear of Allah among the rules of divorce?

Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day are singled out for mention because they are the only ones who benefit from this exhortation. Al-Shawkani: 5/241.

At-Talaq Verses 0 - 2

Whoever does not fear Allah will face difficulties, obstacles, and troubles that he cannot find a way out of or escape the consequences thereof. This is also applicable to divorce. If a person does not fear Allah with regard to the rulings of divorce, and issues a divorce in a prohibited manner, such as issuing the threefold divorce and the like, he will inevitably come to regret it and will not be able to escape the negative consequences thereof. Al-Saadi: 870.
Question: For one who does not have fear of Allah, how does he deal with difficulties and disasters?

At-Talaq Verses 0 - 2

(He will make a way out for him), Ibn Abbas said: Allah will save him from every distress in this life and the Hereafter. It is said that (a way out) means Allah makes him content with what He had given him. Al-Kalbi said: Allah will make for him a way out of the Fire to Paradise. Al-Rabi bin Khuthaym [said]: Allah will make a way out from everything that distresses people. Al-Qurtubi: 21/42-43.
Question: What is meant by (a way out) in this verse?

At-Talaq Verses 0 - 3

Some scholars said: There are two types of provisions, first: An assured provision for every being throughout his life, that is, the sustenance (food) by which his living continues, and it is indicated by the verse, (There is no moving creature on earth but upon Allah is its provision)[11:6]. Second: A promised provision only for those who fear Allah, which is mentioned in this verse. Ibn Juzay: 2/456.

At-Talaq Verses 0 - 3

When Allah mentions His sufficiency for those who rely on Him, some may assume His immediate sufficiency right at the time of their reliance, therefore, He followed that by saying: (For Allah has set a destiny for everything), which means a set time that cannot be extended, and Allah brings it at the appointed time that He decreed. Hence, the one who relies upon Allah must not seek to hasten the result by saying: I have relied on Allah and supplicated Him, but did not see anything, nor have I been sufficed. Allah will surely accomplish His purpose at the appointed time that He decreed. Ibn Al-Qayim: 3/165.
Question: This verse ends with (For Allah has set a destiny for everything). Why?

At-Talaq Verses 0 - 5

(And will reward him immensely), Allah will reward him greatly for his deeds and righteousness, by admitting him into Paradise, abiding therein forever. Al-Tabari: 23/456.
Question: Explain how Allah, the Almighty, will immensely reward those who fear Him .
