Al-Hadid Verses 0 - 20

This is confirmed by what you find in the real life of people. In contrast, those who are aware and strive for the Hereafter have hearts that constantly remember Allah, know and love Him; they fill their time with righteous deeds that will bring them closer to Allah. Al-Saadi: 841.
Question: Once you know the reality of worldly life, how should you react to that?

Al-Hadid Verses 0 - 20

These are the stages through which every person goes in his life, where play is the stage of childhood, amusement is the stage of juvenile, adornment is the stage of youth, boasting is the stage of middle age, and competition is the stage of old age. Ibn Ashur: 27/401.
Question: This verse contains the stages through which people go in their lives. Explain.

Al-Hadid Verses 0 - 20

Meaning: In the Hereafter, there can only be one of these two situations: Either a severe punishment in the fire of hell, or forgiveness from Allah for bad deeds, protection from punishment, and the good pleasure of Allah. This is for those who recognized this world for what it was and strove hard for the Hereafter. Al-Saadi: 841.
Question: Once you know that in the Hereafter there will be either forgiveness or punishment, what should be your position toward this worldly life?

Al-Hadid Verses 0 - 20

Saeed bin Jubair said: This life is an enjoyment of delusion for one who does not seek the reward in the Hereafter, but whoever works in this life for the Hereafter, will enjoy its pleasures until he reaches much better pleasures in the Hereafter. Al-Baghawi: 4/328.
Question: Is the worldly life an enjoyment of delusion for everyone?

Al-Hadid Verses 0 - 23

Meaning: We made it clear to you that all things are decreed and written before the creation of people, and whatever is written, it will come to pass so that you may not grieve over what you have missed, as missing it is predetermined for you, and one does not miss what he does not long for. You may not exult over what He has given you because when you know that whatever provision and good that is written for you will surely come to pass, your exultation over it will become less. Al-Shanqiti: 7/549.
Question: Knowing that everything is written before the creation of people provides useful lesson. Explain.

Al-Hadid Verses 0 - 23

If it is said that a person cannot control himself when it comes to exultation over good things and grieving over what he misses, as when Abu Bakr Al-Siddique (t) was brought abundance of money, he said: "O Allah, we cannot help but exult over what You made pleasing to us." The answer is: The prohibited exultation is that which leads to arrogance and tyranny, and the prohibited grief is that which leads to impatience and resentment. Ibn Juzay: 2/415.
Question: In this verse, Allah prohibits exultation over good things and grief over missing them, what is the aim of this prohibition?

Al-Hadid Verses 23 - 24

Stinginess can be with everything beneficial in religious and worldly things such as wealth , knowledge, etc. One who withholds knowledge from others is stingy with knowledge. The conceited person is the one who is too proud to pursue knowledge, or too proud to teach it to others, which occurs often. The opposite of that is to be humble in pursuing knowledge and generous in teaching it to others. Ibn Taimyah: 6/217.
Question: Many people are stingy without realizing it. Explain.
