Al-Imran Verses 0 - 17

Dedicating the pre-dawn hours to seeking Allah's forgiveness is because supplication during these times is more likely to be answered, as worship is more difficult, the soul is purer, and the heart is more attentive. Al-Alusi: 3/102.
Question: Why was the pre-dawn time selected for asking for Allah's forgiveness?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 17

They used to spend the night in prayer, then before dawn, they used to sit and ask for Allah's forgiveness, thus, concluding their night prayers with seeking forgiveness. Ibn Taimyah: 2/39.
Question: What do most worshiping acts conclude with?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 18

This proves that the noblest of matters is knowledge of Tawhīd (Oneness of Allah), because Allah Himself testified to it, and the best of His creation testified to it. Testimony can only be based on knowledge and certainty, like witnessing with the eyes. Al-Saadi: 125.
Question: What is the status of the knowledge of Tawhīd? How can you infer that from this verse?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 18

This verse highlights the importance of knowledge in many ways such as Allah mentions the testimony of scholars alongside His Own and that of His angels, which is a sufficient honor. He made them witnesses and an argument against people, and obligated the people to act in accordance with the witnessed matter. Thus, Allah obligated people to adhere to the belief in His Oneness, so whoever follows that, the scholars will get part of the reward for it. This is the bounty of Allah that He bestows upon whomever He wills. The fact that He includes the people of knowledge among the witnesses implies that they are praiseworthy and of good character, and that they are trustworthy and able to take care of what He entrusted to them. Al-Saadi: 125.
Question: The verse indicates the honor of knowledge and scholars in several ways. Explain.

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 19

The reason for unity and harmony is adhering to all religious teachings which is the worship of Allah alone, both inwardly and outwardly as He ordained. The end result for that is receiving Allah's mercy and pleasure, happiness in this life and the Hereafter, and shining of their faces. The reason for division is neglecting a portion of what was enjoined upon them, and the envy among themselves. The end result for that is Allah's punishment and curse, darkening of their faces and the disownment of the Messenger (r). Ibn Taimyah: 2/55.
Question: For Muslim nation, what is the reason for unity and harmony? What is the reason for division?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 19

They disputed after becoming aware of the truth due to envy. Ibn Juzay: 1/139.
Question: The verse identifies a reason for their dispute. What is it?
