Al-Imran Verses 0 - 10

These disbelievers have been fully distracted by their wealth and children from the way of Allah and what ought to be done for the Hereafter, to the point where it seems to the observer that they are among those who believe that their wealth and children will replace the mercy of Allah Almighty and His obedience. Al-Alusi: 3/93.
Question: Allah makes clear that neither the wealth of the disbelievers nor their children will avail them. Why?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 12

Meaning: Victory is by the will of Allah, not by numbers, as Muslims defeated the disbelievers even though they were outnumbered. Ibn Juzay: 1/138.
Question: Is maintaining powerful arms and large army a true criterion for victory? Explain.

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 12

If one looks at the mere apparent causes, numbers, and equipment of both sides, he will be certain that it is impossible for this small group to prevail over that large group. But behind this cause that is visible to the eyes is a greater cause that is only perceived by people of insight, faith in Allah, reliance on Him, and trust in His sufficiency, which is His victory and honor for His believing servants over His disbelieving enemies. Al-Saadi: 123.
Question: This verse ends with: (Indeed in that is a lesson for those who have insight), why?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 14

The point of this analogy is that paradise can only be attained by abandoning desires and weaning the soul from them . Al-Qurtubi: 5/43.
Question: What is the link between mentioning desires and the best return?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 14

Allah starts with women, because the temptation caused by them is more severe, as the Messenger (r) said: "I have not left behind me any temptation more harmful to men than women." However, if the intention is to have children and preserve one's chastity, then it is desirable and recommended. Ibn Kathir: 1/332.
Question: This verse starts with women in the types of desires. Why?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 14

These particular desires are singled out for mention because they are the greatest pleasures in this world, and others are secondary to them. Al-Saadi: 124.
Question: These particular desires are singled out for mention. Why?

Al-Imran Verses 0 - 15

In this verse, Allah starts by mentioning the abode, which is the gardens of Paradise. Secondly; He mentions what brings about complete intimacy, which is the purified spouses. Thirdly; He mentions the greatest elixir and the spirit for the heart of the devotee, which is the pleasure of Allah. Al-Alusi: 3/101.
