This has two possible interpretations, first: You could not hide from your hearing, sight, and skins, because they are part of you, so you could not guard against that, hence they testified against you. Second: You did not guard against the testimony of your hearing, sight, and skins, because you did not care about their testimony, nor did you think that they would testify against you. Ibn Juzay: 2/291.
Question: What is meant by: (You were not hiding)? What lesson is learned from this verse?.

Alhasan Al-Basri said: "Some people were diverted by false wishes until they passed away without doing a single good deed, and one of them used to say: I have good expectations of my Lord, but he was lying! If he had good expectations of Allah, he would have done good deeds." Al-Qurtubi: 18/409-410.
Question: Explain when having good expectations of Allah can be misplaced.

Meaning: We set aside devils for them. Moreover, it is said: We sent associates from jinn, devils, and humans to make their sins appealing to them. Al-Qurtubi: 18/411.
Question: This verse describes a sign of Allah's wrath upon the servant. What is it?

This is the work of those who call others to misguidance and falsehood in order to silence ones who speak the truth with evidence through intimidation and alluring. They do not let people exchange arguments because they surely know that their opponents’ argument is strong, thus, they try to hide and refute it by means of deceit and fabrication. When their plots fail and they see the rays of truth about to spread among people, who still have some goodness and prudence, they resort to ill speech by blowing into the trumpets of futility. Ibn Ashur: 24/277.
Question: Given this verse, describe one of the traits of misguided people in warding off the truth.

This was testimony from the enemies, for the truth becomes clearer when its enemies testify in its favor. They thought that they could not defeat the one who brought it except by turning away and urging one another to do so, and what may be understood from their words is that if they did not do that, and instead they listened to it and paid attention to it, they would not be able to gain the upper hand. Al-Saadi: 748.
Question: This verse presents a testimony by the disbelievers for the truth. How?

Ibn Abbas (k) said: "It means: Speak noisily." Some of them used to enjoin others, saying: Whenever you see Muhammad reciting, oppose him by reading poems and engaging in ill speech. Mujahid said: Make noise by whistling and screeching. Ad-Dahhak said: Talk over his voice often so he may become confused. Al-Qurtubi: 4/65.
Question: This verse describes some of corruptors' ways of preventing other from benefiting from the Quran and admonishments. Explain.

Allah mentions what will the disbelievers say on the Day of Resurrection when they enter the Fire and see the great terror in which they will be. They will begin thinking about who was behind their misguidance, their rage will become intensified and wish that those responsible receive the worst punishment, saying: (Our Lord, show us those who misled us). Ibn Atiyah: 5/14.
Question: What causes the inhabitants of the Fire to ask those who misled them from jinn and men to be under their feet?
