He will be resurrected like a madman as a punishment to him and to make him hated by all those who will be gathered on the Last Day. Al-Qurtubi: 4/390.
Question: How will the consumer of usury going to be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection?
There is a reason for concluding this verse with this description, which that the usurer is not satisfied with what Allah has allotted him of lawful earnings, nor is he content with what He has prescribed for him of permissible earnings. He strives to consume people's wealth through various types of wicked earnings. He is ungrateful for the blessings bestowed upon him, unjust and sinful, and consumes people's wealth unjustly. Ibn Kathir: 1/312.
Question: Why is the usurer described as a sinning disbeliever?
Ibn Abbas (t) said: (Allah destroys usury) means that Allah does not accept charity, Jihad or Hajj from a usurer. (And nourishes charities) means that Allah increases and blesses them in this life and multiplies their reward in the Hereafter. (Allah does not like every sinning disbeliever) who does not believe in prohibiting usury. (Sinning) who consumes it. Al-Baghawi: 1/302.
Question: What is the effect of usury on those who consume it?
That is because the requital befits the action. The usurer has wronged people and taken their wealth in an unlawful manner will be punished by losing his wealth. The one who does good to them with various types of goodness will be rewarded by his Lord, who is more generous than him, so Allah will do good to him as he did good to His servants. Al-Saadi: 117.
Question: Why is the reward of the usurer the loss of his wealth, and the reward of the doer of good is the increase of his good deeds?
Here, Allah specifies prayer and zakah, even though they are included in the righteous deeds, to honor them and draw attention to their importance, as they are the most important of deeds: Prayer is the highest action of the body, and zakah is highest action in wealth management. Al-Qurtubi: 4/403.
Question: Allah singles out prayer and zakah for mention. Why?
Usury and faith cannot coexist. Most of the calamities that befell this nation (Muslims) are due to those who practice usury until they were hit by extreme hardship and drought, similar to what had befallen the Children of Israel before them. Al-Biqai: 1/541.
Question: Why is the prohibition of usury emphasized?
If a person knows that he will return to Allah and that He will requite him for all his deeds, great and small, public and private, and that Allah will not wrong him in the slightest way, this will necessitate hope for Allah's reward and fear of His punishment. Al-Saadi: 117-118.
Question: What will be the result for a person when he knows that he will return to Allah?
