Ghafir Verses 0 - 8

This indicates that joining spouses, offspring, and companions is a source of joy, and the basis for good things coming to the believers from other than their deeds, similar to the angels’ supplication for the believers, the righteous from among their parents, their spouses and their offspring. Al-Saadi: 733.
Question: This verse exhorts the believers to befriend righteous people. Explain.

Meaning: Bring them together so that they may find delight in one another in closer dwellings. Ibn Kathir: 4/74.
Question: Parents, spouses and offspring are singled out for mention. Why?

Ghafir Verses 0 - 8

(The Almighty) Who subjugates all things. By Your might, You forgive their sins, relieve them of hardships and cause them to attain all that is good. (the All-Wise) Who does what is appropriate. So, we do not ask You, O our Lord, for anything contrary to that which is dictated by Your wisdom; rather, part of Your wisdom - as You have told us on the lips of Your Messengers, and as dictated by Your grace - is to forgive the believers. Al-Saadi: 732.
Question: The verse ends with (the All-Mighty, the All-Wise), why?

Ghafir Verses 0 - 10

Abhorrence: Hatred that is due to a sin or disgrace, and the disbelievers will experience this situation when they enter the Fire. They will hate themselves, i.e. each other, or everyone will hate himself. Then, the angels will call them, saying: Allah's abhorrence of you in worldly life due to your disbelief was greater than your abhorrence of yourselves today. Ibn Juzay: 2/277.
Question: The disbelievers will hate themselves when they enter the Fire. How?

Ghafir Verses 0 - 11

(You have caused us to die twice and brought us to life twice), this is a full admission of resurrection, hoping to rid themselves of Allah’s abhorrence when they were invited to Islam, but they disbelieved. Some may ask: How is saying: (Our Lord, You have caused us to die twice and brought us to life twice) becomes a confession of their sins? The answer is: They used to deny the resurrection, but when they saw dying and coming back to life were repeated, they realized Allah’s capability to resurrect, hence, they confessed their sins, which were denying resurrection and what it entailed of sins, since he who does not believe in the Hereafter is indifferent to committing sins. Ibn Juzay: 2/278.
Question: Corruption of belief is a cause for committing sins. Explain in light of this verse.

Ghafir Verses 0 - 15

(He places the inspiration): He sends down the revelation. In the Arabic text, the word (Rūh), which means "spirit" is used to indicate that the revelation gives life to people's hearts. Al-Baghawi: 4/38.
Question: The revelation is called (Rūh). Why?

Ghafir Verses 0 - 15

(The Day of Meeting), the Day of Resurrection, and it is called as such because all created beings will meet on it, or, because the inhabitants of the heavens meet those of the earth. Moreover, it is said that it is because all created beings will meet with their Lord. Ibn Juzay: 2/278.
Question: What is the Day of Meeting? Why is it called as such?
