ﭱ ﭲ ﭳ ٤٩ ٤٩ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ
ﭻ ﭼ ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ٥٠ ٥٠ ﮁ ﮂ
ﮃ ﮄ ﮅ ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ

ﯙ ﯚ ٥٣ ٥٣ ﯜ ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ
ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ٥٤ ٥٤ ﯪ ﯫ
ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ﯴ ﯵ
ﯶ ﯷ ﯸ ﯹ ٥٥ ٥٥ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ
ﯿ ﰀ ﰁ ﰂ ﰃ ﰄ ﰅ ﰆ ﰇ ﰈ ٥٦ ٥٦
وَبَدَا لَهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ٤٨
The verb (earned) is used here and not "did", in order to put an end to their discontent with the punishment by confirming that they themselves had earned its causes, similar to this verse, (And it will be said to the wrongdoers, "Taste what you used to earn") [39:24], instead of "do." Ibn Ashur: 24/34.
Question: The verb (earned) is used here and not "did", why?
فَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ ضُرّٞ دَعَانَا
This verse reveals the fact that the disbelievers of Quraish used to believe in the Lordship of Allah. Hence, they were better than the Bolshevik communists who did not believe in Allah. Moreover, the disbelievers of Quraish were better than some ignorant Muslims of today, since when they faced adversity, they called upon Allah with devoted sincerity to Him Alone, but the ignorant Muslims of today associate partners to Him during prosperity and adversity by invoking the righteous and the dead, and seeking their help at all times. Al-Jaza'iri: 4/498.
Question: The disbelievers of Quraish were better than some ignorant Muslims of today. Why?
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمِۢ
This may be interpreted in two ways; first (the most probable) is that he means his know-how of earning and benefitting. Second: Allah knows that I deserve this. Ibn Juzay: 2/271.
Question: This verse points out to the delusion of wealth’s owner by himself. Explain.
ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلۡنَٰهُ نِعۡمَةٗ مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمِۢ بَلۡ هِيَ فِتۡنَةٞ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٤٩
(Because of knowledge), Allah knows that I deserve it. Muqatil said: Allah knows that I am good. (Rather, it is a trial), this blessing is an alluring trial, a test, and an affliction. Al-Baghawi: 4/21.
Question: Is every blessing considered to be good for man? Explain in light of this verse.
بَلۡ هِيَ فِتۡنَةٞ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٤٩
(But most of them do not know), and therefore they regard the test as a blessing, and they are confused between something that is definitely good and something that may be a cause of good or a source of trouble. Al-Saadi: 727.
Question: A blessing may be risky for a heedless ignorant person. Why?
أَوَ لَمۡ يَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقۡدِرُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ ٥٢
Meaning: In the bestowing or withholding of provision, because those who believe know that this matter is connected to divine wisdom and mercy, and that Allah knows best the condition of His servants. He may restrict provision to them out of kindness toward them, because if He grants them abundant provision, they will go beyond the bounds and spread injustice in the land. Hence, by doing that, He is taking care of their spiritual interests, which are the essence of their happiness and prosperity. Al-Saadi: 727.
Question: A little provision is a sign of Allah's kindness and mercy to His servants. How?
۞قُلۡ يَٰعِبَادِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسۡرَفُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ لَا تَقۡنَطُواْ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغۡفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٥٣
The previous verses expand on warning that induces fear in the hearts of the listeners, despite their show of disregard. However, this could lead them to despair, hence, Allah sends a message of hope afterward in order to bring them out to the safety of the land if they want to. This promise and warning adheres to the style of this Glorious Book in treating the souls. Ibn Ashur: 24/39.
Question: How does this verse pertain to the verses before it?
