٢٩ ٢٩ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮ ﭯ ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ﭳ
ﭴ ٣٠ ٣٠ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ ﭼ
ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ ٣١ ٣١ ﮂ ﮃ ﮄ ﮅ ﮆ ﮇ
٣٢ ٣٢ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ
ﮑ ﮒ ٣٣ ٣٣ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ
ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ٣٤ ٣٤ ﮟ ﮠ ﮡ
ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ ﮦ ﮧ ٣٥ ٣٥ ﮩ ﮪ
ﮫ ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ
ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ ٣٦ ٣٦ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ
ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ٣٧ ٣٧ ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ
ﯧ ﯨ ﯩ ﯪ ٣٨ ٣٨ ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ
ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ٣٩ ٣٩ ﯴ ﯵ ﯶ ﯷ ﯸ ﯹ
ﯺ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ ﯿ ﰀ ﰁ ﰂ ﰃ ٤٠ ٤٠
۞وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ مِن جُندٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ ٢٨
Meaning: Allah has destroyed them with a single blast by the angel Gabriel, and He did not need to send down soldiers from heaven to punish them because they were insignificant. Ibn Juzay: 2/223.
Question: Given this verse, describe the weakness and insignificance of nations when Allah wants to punish them.
۞وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ مِن جُندٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ ٢٨
Meaning: We did not need to go to the trouble of punishing them by sending down troops from heaven to destroy them (nor would We have done so) because of the great might of Allah and the extreme weakness of human beings, the slightest touch of divine punishment that befalls them is sufficient. Al-Saadi: 695.
Question: Describe the weakness of mankind in light of this verse.
يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ٣٠
How regretful the servants will be for themselves, how sorry and grievous they will be for ridiculing Allah's Messengers (p). Al-Qurtubi: 17/436.
Question: What is the reason for the servants' regret?
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ أَحۡيَيۡنَٰهَا وَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مِنۡهَا حَبّٗا فَمِنۡهُ يَأۡكُلُونَ ٣٣
Allah brought the dead earth to life by growing its plants and grains as a sign for them to direct their attention to His power of giving life to the dead, and to remind them of His Oneness and absolute power. Al-Qurtubi: 17/44.
Question: What is the benefit of mentioning the revival of the dead earth at this stage?
سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمِنۡ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٣٦
Meaning: How odd is the persistence of those disbelievers on their disbelief despite all the signs that they witness; and whoever wonders at something, says, "Glory be to Allah." Al-Qurtubi: 17/441.
Question: What should one say when he wonders at something?
وَءَايَةٞ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيۡلُ نَسۡلَخُ مِنۡهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظۡلِمُونَ ٣٧ وَٱلشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِي لِمُسۡتَقَرّٖ لَّهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ ٣٨ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ قَدَّرۡنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلۡعُرۡجُونِ ٱلۡقَدِيمِ ٣٩ لَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ يَنۢبَغِي لَهَآ أَن تُدۡرِكَ ٱلۡقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِۚ وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ ٤٠
All of this offers clear evidence and proof for the greatness of the Creator and the sublime nature of His Attributes, especially His might, wisdom, and knowledge in this context. Al-Saadi: 696.
Question: What are the divine attributes inferred from these verses?
وَٱلشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِي لِمُسۡتَقَرّٖ لَّهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ ٣٨
These two attributes (The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing) are mentioned because they pertain to the planets movement system, where the His might pertains to the subjugation of this great universe, and His knowledge pertains to the precision of this innovative system. Ibn Ashur: 23/21.
Question: The verse ends with these two attributes (the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing). Why?
