Saba Verses 0 - 9

Allah reveals that the One who is capable of creating the heavens and earth and everything in them, is capable of resurrecting the disbelievers and hastening their punishment. So, Allah uses the fact of His overwhelming power as evidence for this argument. Since they are surrounded by the heavens and earth which belong to Him, how can they be safe from being swallowed by the earth or hit by fragments from the heavens, similar to what happened to Korah and the people of the Thicket? Al-Qurtubi: 17/259.
Question: Allah's capability of creating the heavens and earth is evidence of His ability to punish the disobedient. How?

Saba Verses 0 - 9

The more a person turns to Allah in repentance, the greater he will benefit from the signs, because the one who repents and turns to his Lord focuses with all his heart and aspirations on his Lord, and turns to Him in all his affairs. Thus, he becomes close to his Lord and has no concern or interest except to strive to please Him. So, when he looks at created beings, it is in order to reflect and learn, not with heedlessness in a manner that is of no benefit. Al-Saadi: 676.
Question: Those who turn to Allah in repentance benefit from the signs. Why?

Saba Verses 0 - 10

The word, (bounty) is in an indefinite form to indicate its greatness, which is the bounty of Prophethood, kingship, the attendance to reforming his people, justice in judgment, bravery in battlefield, abundance of provision, lack of need for people due to his making of metal coats of mail taught to him by Allah, receiving the Psalms, having a beautiful voice, and living a long righteous life, etc. Ibn Ashur: 22/155.
Question: The word, (bounty) is in an indefinite form. Why?

Saba Verses 0 - 11

This verse proves that learning trades by people of virtue does not lessen their status, rather, it enhances their virtues since they attain modesty, become self-sufficient, and earn halal provision without favor from others. Al-Qurtubi: 17/263.
Question: Does learning trades or mastering skills by a student of knowledge lessen his status?

Saba Verses 0 - 13

This proves that showing gratitude can be through deeds as well as words and intention. An Arab poet said: My gratitude to you for your favor are three: My hand, my tongue, and my heart. Ibn Kathir: 3/507.
Question: What are the different ways for man to show his gratitude to his Lord?

Saba Verses 0 - 13

It is narrated that David (u) said: O Lord, how can I thank you for your blessings when my ability to and inspiration to do so is in itself a blessing by you? Allah replied: O David, only now you knew Me. The reality of gratitude for a blessing is acknowledging its Bestower and applying it in His obedience -and few people do that- while ingratitude is using the blessing in His disobedience. Al-Qurtubi: 17/278.
Question: What is the reality of gratitude? Are there many grateful people?

Saba Verses 0 - 14

Meaning: It became apparent to the people that jinn do not know the unseen. It is said that (realized), knew. Ibn Juzay: 2/203.
Question: How do you respond to those who claim that jinn know the unseen?
