Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 249

This verse encourages fighting, detects patience, and presents a path to follow the example of those who are true to Allah. This is how we must act, but evil actions and false intentions have prevented that until the many of us are defeated by a small enemy, as we have witnessed many times, and we have brought that on ourselves! Abu-Darda' said: "You only fight by your deeds." Al-Qurtubi: 4/245.
Question: This verse mentions a reason for victory over the enemy. What is it?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 249

The patience of the servant is the greatest means for seeking Allah's help. Al-Saadi: 108.
Question: What is the greatest means for seeking Allah's help?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 250

Their supplication has the right order of requests, first: They asked for pouring of patience upon their hearts when encountering the enemy. Second: They asked to make their feet strong and firm on the ground, as patience alone may be attained by those who have no resistance. Third: They asked for the main objective of any conflict, which is victory over the enemy. Al-Alusi: 2/172.
Question: The best supplication is the most inclusive of one's needs. Explain.

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 251

A wise person who admits his lack of knowledge and believes in the limitless power of his Lord should not entrust anything to his own power because it is, in fact, helpless, even if it claims otherwise. He should disown his power and strength in favor of the power and strength of his Lord, and should not cease asking Him for forgiveness and protection. Al-Biqai: 1/483.
Question: What is a good confidence and what is a bad one?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 251

This confirms the importance of having a ruler (king), without which world affairs would not be stable. Hence; it was said that religion and ruler are twins; when one rises the other does too, because religion is a foundation and the ruler is a guard. A building without foundation is a destroyed, and one without a guard is lost. Al-Alusi: 2/174.
Question: From this verse, explain the importance of having a ruler (king).

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 251

In this verse, Allah states that if it were not for Him repelling the disbelievers by the believers throughout history, (the earth would be filled with corruption) because disbelief would have prevailed and persisted in all its regions, but Allah protects and provides for those who uphold the truth, call others to Him, and fight in His cause, until Allah has set the nation of Muhammad (r) to carry out this endeavor until the Last Day, so all praise be to Him. Ibn Atiyah: 1/337.
Question: Allah made the repel between the believers and disbelievers continued until the Last Day. Why?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 251

(Allah is All-Gracious to the worlds), first: By creating them. Second: By repelling the transgression of the wrongdoers either by other wrongdoers or by righteous people -and they are few- and He amply bestows upon them His favors both apparent and hidden. Al-Biqai: 1/481.
Question: Explain some of Allah's graciousness to the worlds?
