ﭙ ﭚ ﭛ ﭜ ﭝ ٨٢ ٨٢ ﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭢ
ﭣ ﭤ ﭥ ﭦ ﭧ ﭨ ﭩ ٨٣ ٨٣
ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮ ﭯ ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ﭳ ﭴ
ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ
٨٤ ٨٤ ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ ﮁ ﮂ ﮃ ﮄ
٨٥ ٨٥ ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ٨٦ ٨٦
ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ﮓ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ
ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠ ﮡ
ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ٨٧ ٨٧ ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ
ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ٨٨ ٨٨ ﮰ
ﮱ ﯓ ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ
٨٩ ٨٩ ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ ﯢ
ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ﯩ ﯪ
ﯫ ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ٩٠ ٩٠
وَأَيُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ٨٣ فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرّٖۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَٰبِدِينَ ٨٤
(And as a reminder for the worshipers [of Allah]), We made him an example, lest those who are beset by trial think that We do that to them because We do not care for them. Moreover, they may take him as an example of patience in accepting the decrees of Allah and bearing the trials with which He tests His servants as He wills. Ibn Kathir: 3/185.
Question: Job's story is a reminder for the worshipers of Allah. Why?
رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَٰبِدِينَ ٨٤
Meaning: We tested him to multiply his rewards. (And as a reminder for the worshipers [of Allah]), a reminder for the servants, because when they remember Job's (u) affliction, his patience and perseverance -while he was the best among the people of his time- they accustom themselves to endure the hardships of life with patience, just like Job (u) did. This alerts them to the importance of a continuing the worship and enduring harm with patience. Al-Qurtubi: 14/263.
Question: What is the wisdom behind Allah's mention of His testing of Job (u)?
وَأَدۡخَلۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي رَحۡمَتِنَآۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ٨٦
Allah, also, describes them as righteous, which includes righteousness of the heart, by knowing and loving Allah, and turning to Him at all times; righteousness of the tongue, by keeping it moist with the remembrance of Allah; and physical righteousness, by keeping their physical faculties busy with acts of obedience to Allah and restraining them from sin. Al-Saadi: 529.
Question: When is a person described as righteous?
وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبٗا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٨٧
(And he called out within the darknesses), the darknesses of the night, the sea and the whale's belly. Ibn Juzay: 2/43.
Question: What were the darknesses in which Prophet Jonah was? In light of this verse, explain briefly the effect of Allah's remembrance in relieving the affliction.
لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٨٧
Thus, Prophet Jonah (u) affirmed the perfect divinity of Allah (there is no deity except You), declaring Him to be above any shortcomings, defects, or faults (exalted are You), and he acknowledged his own wrongdoing and transgression (indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers). Al-Saadi: 529.
Question: This supplication includes three things for which Prophet Jonah (u) deserved to be saved from the whale's belly. What are they?
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُۨجِي ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٨٨
Meaning: When they are in difficulty and they call upon Us and repent to Us, especially if they call upon Us with these words at the time of distress. Ibn Kathir: 3/187.
Question: Inferring from this verse, what is an ideal way to be saved during times of hardships?
فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ يَحۡيَىٰ وَأَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهُۥ زَوۡجَهُۥٓۚ
(And amended for him his wife), after she was a barren, and her womb had been unable to bear children, Allah healed her and made her womb able to bear a child for the sake of His Prophet Zachariah (u). This is one of the benefits of having good and righteous companions, for those who keep company with them will be blessed. Thus, John (u) was born to his parents. Al-Saadi: 530.
Question: In light of this verse, how do you infer the blessing of the righteous companion?
