Al-Kahf Verses 0 - 54

It was narrated by Ali bin Abi Talib that the Prophet (ﷺ) came to him and Fatimah at night and said: "Will you not pray?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) our souls are in the hand of Allah, and if He wants to make us get up, He will make us get up." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went away when I said that to him. Then, as he was leaving, I heard him striking his thigh and saying, (but man is the most quarrelsome of all beings). Ibn Ashur: 15/348.
Question: When someone offers advice, it should be considered as much as possible. Explain

Al-Kahf Verses 0 - 54

Many people argue about the truth after it has become clear, and they debate on the basis of falsehood, seeking to undermine the truth. Hence, Allah says, (but man is the most quarrelsome of all beings) in debates and disputes concerning the Quran, even though that is inappropriate and unfair on his part. What cause a man to be like that and not believe in Allah is nothing other than wrongdoing and stubbornness; the lack of acceptance is not due to any deficiencies in the proof and evidence presented in the Quran. Al-Saadi: 480.
Question: Is arguing with scholars and students of knowledge a good thing? What is the reason that makes one argue much with people of truth?.

Al-Kahf Verses 0 - 56

Allah differentiates between the signs (verses) that point to the knowledge, which are the proofs of the Lord, and the warnings that tell about the punishments, like informing the Prophets about what the disbelievers deserve of punishments. Thus, it is known by both: knowledge and warnings. Ibn Taimyah: 4/260.
Question: What is the difference between the signs and the warnings?

Al-Kahf Verses 0 - 56

(And We do not send the messengers except as bearers of glad tidings) of Paradise for those who believe, and (warners) of punishment to those who disbelieve. Al-Qurtubi: 13/311.
Question: List two methods of preaching to Allah, which are mentioned in this verse.

Al-Kahf Verses 0 - 57

This verse is aimed at scaring those who reject the truth after having known it. It warns of a barrier that could be erected, preventing them from following it any further. Nothing is more alarming or a greater deterrent than that. Al-Saadi: 481.
Question: There is a difference between one who turns away from truth while being aware of it and another who does the same while being ignorant of it. Explain that in light of this verse.

Al-Kahf Verses 0 - 57

Meaning: No one is more unjust to himself than one who is admonished by the verses of his Lord but takes them lightly and turns away from accepting them. Al-Qurtubi: 13/312.
Question: Among all people, who is the most unjust to himself?

Al-Kahf Verses 0 - 60

There are useful lessons in this story: A trip is taken by a scholar to seek more knowledge while being helped by a servant and a companion. Meeting up with honorable men and scholars -despite their distant places- is a custom of the righteous predecessors; hence, such travelers reached the best aim and gained a successful pursuit. So, they became firm in their knowledge and attained high honor among people and a great reward from Allah. Al-Bukhari said: "Jaber bin Abdullah traveled for a month to meet with Abdulla bin Onais (j) to hear one Hadith from him." Al-Qurtubi: 13/318.
Question: What does a student of knowledge learn from Moses (u) trip to acquire knowledge?
