Al-Baqarah Verses 183 - 184

The intended meaning behind saying: (As it was decreed upon those before you) and (a limited number of days), is to ease fasting for Muslims with gentle comforting words. Ibn Juzay: 1/95.
Question: In His Sharia, Allah combines wisdom and mercy. Explain in light of this verse.

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 183

This is because fasting is one of the laws and commands that are of interest to creation at all times, and it is an encouragement to this nation (Muslims) that they should compete with others in perfecting deeds and hastening to good qualities, and that it is not one of the burdens that they have been singled out for. Al-Saadi: 86.
Question: Knowing that fasting was decreed upon those before us is beneficial. Explain.

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 183

Meaning: So that you avoid sins, because fasting inhibits lustful desires. The Prophet (r) said: "O young men, whoever among you can afford it, let him get married, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding one's chastity, and whoever cannot afford it, let him fast, as it will be a restraint for him." Al-Alusi: 2/57.
Question: How does fasting lead to righteousness?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 183

Allah, the Almighty, says, "Every deed of the son of Adam is his except for fasting, it is Mine and I reward for it." Even though all acts of worship are in fact His, Allah singles out fasting as being His for two reasons that make fasting different from other acts of worship. First: Fasting curtails lustful desires in a way that all other acts of worship do not except prayer. Second: Fasting is a secret between the servant and his Lord, and is only revealed to Him . All other acts of worship are outward and may contain some artifice and showing off, which is not the case with fasting. That is why fasting is specially for Allah. Al-Qurtubi: 3/123.
Question: Explain the virtues of fasting over other forms of worship.

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 185

Since Eid is a time of joy and pleasure, and it is in the nature of the soul to exceed the limits due to its nature of gluttony -sometimes out of negligence or transgression- Allah commands Muslims to repeat saying: "Allah Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest). Al-Biqai: 1/345.
Question: Allah Commands Muslims to repeat saying, "Allah Akbar" starting on the night before the day of Eid. Why?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 186

In this verse, Allah mentions that He is Near and responds to the call of supplicant. In another verse, He explained that this is conditional upon His will, (And He would remove that for which you invoked Him if He willed, and you would forget what you associate with Him) [6:41]. Some said that the conditional response is to the supplications of the disbelievers, as is apparent in the context of the verse, while the absolute response is to the supplications of the believers. Accordingly, their supplication will not be rejected; either they will be given what they asked for, or saving for them something better, or averting evil from them. Al-Shanqiti: 1/74.
Question: What is the difference between the supplication of a believer and that of a disbeliever with respect to the response from Allah?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 186

This verse indicates that the supplication of a fasting person is answered, the supplications during the month of Ramadan are answered, and that supplication should be made at the end of each day of the month of Ramadan. Ibn Ashur: 2/179.
Question: What is the wisdom behind including the verse of supplication between the verses of fasting?
