Falling under those who associate partners with Allah is anyone who assent to the Lordship of Allah and Him being the Creator, but he commits acts of shirk, such as those who worship graves, make vows for them, and believe that the dead can benefit and harm them. Al-Alusi: 13/84.
Question: How can a person have both faith and shirk?
They believe in His Lordship but they associate partners with Him in worship. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to Husain Al-Khuzai: "How many gods do you worship, o Husain?" He replied, "Seven, six on earth and one in heaven." He asked, "Which of them do you take account of regarding your hopes and your fears?" He replied: "The one in heaven," he said, "If you were to accept Islam, Husain, I would teach you a phrase which would benefit you." When Husain accepted Islam, the Prophet (ﷺ) taught him to say, "O Allah, direct me in the right way and deliver me from the evil within myself." Ibn Taimyah: 4/67.
Question: It is not sufficient to believe in the Lordship of Allah, His Names and Attributes until one believes in His Oneness when invoking and seeking help. Explain in light of this verse.
It is inferred from this verse that the Prophet's (ﷺ) Companions and the believers who followed him are enjoined to invite others to Islam with every means they have. Ibn Ashur: 13/56.
Question: The believer should invite others to the path of Allah with every means he has. Explain.
Abdullah Ibn Masoud (t) said: Whoever wants to follow the example of someone, let him follow the example of one who passed away because a living person is not immune to a trial. The Companions of Muhammad (ﷺ) were the best among this Muslim nation; they had the purest hearts, the greatest knowledge, and the least overburdening attitude. They were people whom Allah had chosen to be the Companions of His Prophet (ﷺ), and establish His religion. So, recognize their credit, follow their examples, and hold fast to what you can of their morals and ways of life, for they were on the straight guidance. Al-Baghawi: 4/283.
Question: Who was the best in understanding the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ), and followed it?
Allah states that He did not send a revelation of law to a woman from among mankind. Ibn Kathir: 3/477.
Question: Inherent nature of mankind entails that male is different from female, and that each is enabled to do that for which he has been created. Explain.
This proves that Allah becomes displeased with one who turns away from reflecting upon His signs. Al-Biqai: 4/113.
Question: Is reflecting upon the demise of wrongdoers an obligatory or voluntary for the believers?
The guidance in their stories are the lessons which inspire faith and piety in witnessing the proofs throughout these stories that Allah is governing all affairs, and that piety is the basis of good in this world and the Hereafter. Moreover, the stories of the righteous showed Allah's mercy and protection of them. Ibn Ashur: 13/72.
Question: List some benefits of the stories.
