Negative assumption -when there is circumstantial evidence that points to that- is not objectionable nor prohibited. Al-Saadi: 411
Question: When is negative assumption forbidden?

Yusuf Verses 0 - 67

This verse proves taking precaution against evil eye, as evil eye is real. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The evil eye is capable of putting a man into his grave, and putting a camel in a cooking pot." And when seeking refuge, he would say, "I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and scourge and every harmful eye," which proves thereof. Al-Qurtubi: 11/399.
Question: How does the believer take precaution against evil eye?

This verse proves that the believer should warn his brother against harm, and offer him guidance to what keeps him safe and secure, as religion is sincere advice, and a Muslim is a brother of another Muslim. Al-Qurtubi: 11/403.
Question: What should you do if you fear for your brother's safety?

Yusuf Verses 0 - 67

He wanted to teach them reliance on the grace and success from Allah while adopting the usual apparent means; showing their disciplined manner with the One Who created the means and decreed events in a subtle way. Ibn Ashur: 13/21.

Yusuf Verses 0 - 68

This was the result of compassion and love for his children; therefore, by giving them this advice, he put his mind at rest. This was not due to any lack of knowledge on his part, for he was one of the noble Messengers and devoted scholars. Hence, Allah says of him, (And he was indeed a man of knowledge), which indicates that he had great knowledge. Al-Saadi: 402.
Question: After mentioning that Jacob's (u) plan did not avail them, Allah says, (And he was indeed a man of knowledge). Why?

Yusuf Verses 0 - 68

(He was indeed a man of knowledge), he did what he did out of knowledge, not ignorance. (Because of what We had taught him) due to our teaching of him. It is said that he practiced what he knew. Sufyan said: Whoever does not practice what he knows is not considered a scholar. Al-Baghawi: 2/503.
Question: When can one be considered a scholar?
