(This is from Allah's favor upon us and upon people), this is part of His great blessings, favor and grace towards us and toward those whom Allah guides as He has guided us, for there is no greater blessing that Allah can bestow upon people than Islam and the true religion. Whoever accepts it and submits to Him is most fortunate, for he has attained the greatest blessings and the greatest virtues. Al-Saadi: 398.
Question: What are the greatest blessings of Allah upon you?
This Tawhīd (Monotheism) -affirming that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone without partners- (this is from Allah's favor upon us), He has revealed it to us and ordained it on us, (and upon people), to whom He has sent us as callers to Tawhīd, (but most people are ungrateful), they do not admit Allah's favor and blessing of sending the Messengers to them. Ibn Kathir: 2/460.
Question: Knowing that most people are ungrateful inspires you to do something. What is it?
(But most people are ungrateful) for the blessing of Tawhīd and faith. Al-Qurtubi: 11/349.
Question: What is the great blessing for which people do not offer enough gratitude to Allah?
The ruling and judgement belong to Allah, and His Messengers convey, on His behalf, to the people; therefore, their ruling is His, their ordain is His, and the obedience to them is that to Him. Whatever the Messenger ruled, enjoined and ordained as religious matters, then it is the duty of all people to follow and obey him because that is the rule of Allah upon His creation. Ibn Taimyah: 4/34.
Question: The Messenger's rule is Allah's. Explain, in light of this verse.
Joseph did not direct this speech at him, in order to lessen the grief of the other person. This is why he made his statement indirect. Ibn Kathir: 2/461.
Question: Joseph (u) did not indicate who would serve wine to his master and who would be crucified. Why?
(So he remained in prison for several years), when Allah wanted to complete His decree and willed that Joseph (u) should be released from prison, He ordained means for that which caused Joseph (u) to be released, and to become prominent and attain high esteem; which was the king's dream. Al-Saadi: 398.
Question: Explain Allah's wisdom behind His will and destiny.
If a person finds himself faced with hardship and difficulty, there is nothing wrong with him seeking the help of anyone who has the ability to save him or to tell others about his situation. This is not regarded as complaining to other humans, because it is something normal; people usually seek one another's help. Hence, Joseph (u) said to the young man whom he thought would be saved, (mention me to your master). Al-Saadi: 410.
Question: Does seeking people's help in what they are able to do contradict good faith?
