Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 113

They -as Imam Ahmad said- differ about the Book, oppose the Book, and agree to depart from the Book. They have combined the two descriptions of discord that Allah has condemned in His Book, for He has condemned those who oppose the Prophets and those who differ over the Prophets. Ibn Taimyah: 1/311.
Question: The Jews and Christians combined two descriptions of discord. What are they?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 114

As there is no one who does greater evil than those who prevent the Name of Allah from being mentioned in His mosques, then there is no one who has greater faith than the one who strives to tend the mosques in both a physical and moral sense, as Allah says: (The mosques of Allah are only to be visited and tended by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day) [9-18]. Al-Saadi: 63.
Question: Tending the mosques or destructing them are acts of a great significance to Allah. Explain.

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 114

One of the signs of the coming of Day of Judgment is neglecting mosques, therefore, every nation, a group or a person who perpetrates an offense inside a mosque which causes it to be abandoned, Allah will punish him with terror and fear in this life. Al-Biqai: 1/225.
Question: Neglecting mosques is among the signs of the coming of Day of Judgment. How are they neglected?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 114

(And strives), means: He tries hard and does his utmost (for their destruction) in both a physical and moral sense. Physical destruction means demolishing, ruining, and defiling them. Moral destruction means preventing people from mentioning Allah's name therein. The meaning of this verse is general and applies to anyone who meets this description. Al-Saadi: 63.
Question: Destructions of mosques? Which type is more common today?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 118

This is how they were with their Messengers: They would ask for signs out of obstinacy, and not for seeking guidance. Their aim was not to clarify the truth, as the Messengers had already brought signs that would make people believe. Al-Saadi: 64.
Question: The disbelievers asked for signs, but Allah did not answer them. Why?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 118

(Their hearts resemble each other): The pronoun refers to those who do not know and to those before them, and their hearts are alike in disbelief, or in seeking what is not right to be sought. Ibn Juzay: 1/81.
Question: In what way do the hearts of those (who do not know) resemble that of (those before them)?

Al-Baqarah Verses 0 - 119

Meaning: We have sent you as a bearer of glad tidings to those who obey, and a warner to those who disobey, not to force anyone to accept faith, as there will be no blame on you if they persist in their disbelief. Al-Alusi: 1/370.
Question: For one who invites others to Islam, what does he benefit from this verse?
