Al-A'raf Verses 0 - 23

Some scholars said: "Two servants, Adam () and Iblis, each one committed a sin. Adam () repented, and Allah accepted his repentance, chose and guided him. Iblis insisted and protested using the argument of fate and destiny. Whoever repents from his sin, will be like his father, Adam (), and whoever insists and uses the fate argument, will be like Iblis. Ibn Taimyah: 3/142
Question: In light of this verse, show the importance of the quick admission of guilt and seeking forgiveness?

Al-A'raf Verses 0 - 23

Forgiveness removes the sins, and mercy brings down blessings. Ibn Taimyah: 3/142.
Question: What is the difference between forgiveness and mercy in this verse?

Al-A'raf Verses 0 - 23

Whoever follows the example of Adam by admitting his guilt, asking for forgiveness, regretting it and giving it up -if he commits a sin- his Lord will draw him near and guide him. But whoever follows the example of Iblis by carrying on -if he commits a sin- and continuing to increase it, will only go further away from Allah. Al-Saadi: 285.
Question: In the story of Adam () and Iblis, there is a great lesson for one who commits a sin. What is it?

Al-A'raf Verses 0 - 26

Meaning: It is better than physical clothing, for the garment of piety lasts and does not wear out or vanish; it is the beauty of the heart and soul. As for outward clothing, its purpose is to cover the "awrah" sometimes, or to be an adornment for the wearer, and it has no other benefit beyond that. Al-Saadi: 286.
Question: Why is the clothing of piety better than physical clothing?

Al-A'raf Verses 0 - 27

Malik bin Dinar (a prominent scholar) said: "An enemy who sees you while you cannot see him is indeed a formidable adversary, except to those who are protected by Allah." Al-Baghawi: 2/97.
Question: An enemy who sees you while you cannot see him is very dangerous. Explain.

Al-A'raf Verses 0 - 27

Meaning: This is more of a punishment to them that Allah makes them equal in going astray. Al-Qurtubi: 9/393.
Question: Who are the devils' allies?

Al-A'raf Verses 0 - 30

This proves that guidance is by the grace and blessing of Allah, and that misguidance results from His forsaking a person if that person, because of his ignorance and wrongdoing, takes satan as an ally, thus becoming the cause of his own misguidance. The one who thinks that he is guided when in fact he is misguided has no excuse. Al-Saadi: 287.
Question: Most of the followers of deviant sects believe that they are guided to the truth. Does that benefit them?
