(Those are the ones): Those who have been described as having received a portion of the Scripture believe in jibt and taghoot. (Whom Allah has cursed), Allah says that He Has disgraced them, and cast them out of His mercy because of their belief in jibt and taghoot, and their disbelief in Allah and His Messenger in defiance to Allah and His Messenger. Al-Tabari: 8/471.
Question: When does the knowledge of the Scripture become useful?
Since the fire -as we know it- is annihilating and destroying, He resumed His statement in response to that: (Whenever their skins are burnt through), became dead skins with no feeling, (We will replace them), we will make for them (other skins) instead of the burnt ones, by returning them to what they were. The repetition of torment is an appropriate recompense for their repeated denial of Allah's message. Al-Biqai: 2/269.
Question: The disbelievers' skins will be replaced in Hellfire. Why?
(Deepening shade): Is continuous without opening, spread out with no confinement, permanent with no sun blaze, and never hot or cold, rather it is very moderate. Al-Biqai: 2/270.
Question: What does (Deepening shade) in Paradise mean?
Rulers must rule only with justice. (Justice) is what Allah had revealed as He says, (Indeed, Allah commands you to return trusts to their owners, and when you judge between people, judge with justice. What an excellent exhortation from Allah to you! Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing). Ibn Taimyah: 2/272.
Question: What is meant by (justice) in this verse?
Obeying those in authority is on the condition that they do not enjoin disobedience to Allah; if they do so, then there should not be any obedience to any created being if it involves disobedience toward the Creator. Perhaps this is the reason why the verb (obey) is not repeated with regard to those who are in authority, but it is mentioned with regard to the Messenger (r). That is because the Messenger (r) only enjoins obedience to Allah, and whoever obeys him has obeyed Allah. Al-Saadi: 184.
Question: Why is the verb (obey) mentioned with regard to the Messenger (r), but omitted with regard to those who are in authority?
People's religious and worldly affairs cannot be put right except by obeying those who are in authority. Al-Saadi: 183.
Question: Why is it a duty to obey those who are in authority?
(Refer it to Allah and the Messenger): Referring it to Allah is by looking into His Book (the Holy Quran), and referring it to His Messenger (r) is by asking him during his life, and looking into his Sunnah after his death. Ibn Juzay: 1/196.
Question: How can disagreements be referred to Allah and His Messenger (r)?
