Al-A'la Verses 14 - 15

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ ١٤ وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ ١٥

Purifying comes before Allah's remembrance and prayer because it is the essence of all deeds, for if the soul is purified, it will shine with the lights of guidance, become aware of their merits and turn often to them. Ibn Ashur: 30/288.
Question: Purifying comes before Allah's remembrance and prayer. Why?

Al-A'la Verses 0 - 16

بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا ١٦

The meaning of preferring the worldly life is being content and satisfied with it, and neglecting the Hereafter completely. Al-Alusi: 15/322.
Question: What is meant by preferring the worldly life ?

Al-Ghashiyah Verses 2 - 3

وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ ٢ عَامِلَةٞ نَّاصِبَةٞ ٣

(Humbled), humiliated. Initially, they were not described as humiliated, for describing them as humbled implies a ridicule of them, because they were not humbled in worldly life when it would have been beneficial to them. The same thing can be said about describing them as working hard and weary. Al-Alusi: 15/325.
Question: What is the aim of describing the faces of disbelievers as humbled and working hard.

Al-Ghashiyah Verses 0 - 10

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ ١٠

Describing Paradise as (elevated) indicates its beauty because the best of gardens are those which are located over the hills. Ibn Ashur: 30/299.
Question: Paradise is described as (elevated), why?

Al-Ghashiyah Verses 0 - 11

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةٗ ١١

Rather, what will be heard in Paradise is Allah's remembrance such as praising, glorifying, and exalting Him, for the splendors within Paradise will inspire such remembrance. Moreover, the hearts of its inhabitants will be cleared of liking to engage in idle talk of what they used to hate to do in worldly life that contrasted with wisdom. Al-Biqai: 22/9.
Question: In Paradise, what will be the substitute for idle talk?

Al-Ghashiyah Verses 0 - 13

فِيهَا سُرُرٞ مَّرۡفُوعَةٞ ١٣

(Within it are couches raised high), the couches will be raised high so when the believer sits on them, he can see all that which Allah has given him of bliss and kingdom around him. Al-Tabari: 24/38.
Question: Allah has made the couches raised high in Paradise. Why?

Al-Ghashiyah Verses 0 - 17

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ ١٧

Allah urges people to reflect on the creation of camels due to their wonders such as their strength, the ease by which it can be led by a weak person, their endurance of thirst with patience, and their many useful benefits such as using them for riding, hauling weights, eating, drinking their milk and urine [for some cases], and akin to it. Ibn Juzay: 2/566.
