(It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds), this implies that His complete Lordship over His creation, [man and jinn], will not ever leave them neglected; where He does not command, nor forbid, nor guide them to what benefits them, or warn them against what may harm them, and leave them like grazing livestock. Whoever claims that, does not revere Allah His true reverence, and attributes to Him that which is not suitable for Him. Ibn Al-Qayim: 3/191.
Question: What is the sign of Allah's complete Lordship?
Meaning: A reminder for the righteous from among the worlds, as they are the ones who benefit from the Quran because they turn to it seeking its benefits. Al-Biqai: 20/383.
Question: The righteous are singled out for reminder. Why?
(So be patient), endure their annoyance patiently, and that should not stop you from conveying the Message to them. You have come close to the time of taking retribution from them. O the victor, the last of the Prophets to whom I have revealed that which I have not revealed to anyone else. Patience is holding oneself against what is dislikable. Al-Biqai: 20/392.
Question: Does bearing patiently with people entail neglecting to preach them? Explain.
It means patience without discontent. Al-Tabari: 23/603.
Question: What is the meaning of gracious patience?
But Allah sees it as being close at hand because He is Kind and Forbearing and does not hasten. He knows that it will inevitably come to pass, and every awaited event is near. Al-Saadi: 886.
Question: 1,400 years had passed since the revelation of this verse, but the Day of Resurrection is described as (near). How?
If all these troubles will happen to these massive entities (the mountains), what do you think will happen to a weak human being, whose back is laden with sins and heavy burdens? Al-Saadi: 886
Question: What is the lesson learned from mentioning the changes to the heavens and mountains? How?
The mountains are likened to the wool when it puffs up and becomes disjointed. Ibn Juzay: 2/495.
Question: There is a similarity between wool and mountains on the Day of Resurrection. Explain.
