Al-Qamar Verses 0 - 51

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ٥١

((And We have destroyed many like you) of the previous nations who did deeds such as you have done, and disbelieved as you have disbelieved. (Is there anyone to take heed), is there anyone who will pay heed and realize that Allah's way of dealing with the earlier and later generations is the same, and that just as His wisdom decreed that the earlier evildoers be destroyed, these people are just like them, and there is no difference between the two groups. Al-Saadi: 828.
Question: Allah relates to us the destruction of past nations. Why?

Al-Qamar Verses 0 - 55

فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۢ ٥٥

(The Most Powerful), He possesses infinite powers beyond which what others can comprehend. He provides the righteous with every good and protects them from every harm. This holy name, (the Most Powerful) is the key to overpowering the transgressors. Al-Biqai: 19/137.
Question: What does this holy name (The Most Powerful) indicate?

Al-Qamar Verses 0 - 55

فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۢ ٥٥

Ja'far Al-Sadiq said: Allah praises the seat of truth in which only truthful people sit. Al-Qurtubi: 20/109.
Question: This verse indicates the virtue of truthfulness. How?

Ar-Rahman Verses 1 - 4

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ١ عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٢ خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ ٣ عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَيَانَ ٤

After mentioning the favor of teaching the Quran, Allah mentions the creation of man because it is the basis upon which all favors are bestowed. The mention of teaching the Quran precedes all favors because it is the greatest of them all. Al-Alusi: 14/99.
Question: The mention of teaching the Quran precedes all favors. Why?

Ar-Rahman Verses 0 - 2

عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٢

Since this Surah enumerates Allah's favors upon His servants, Allah begins with the greatest favor, the most useful, and has the greatest return of them all, which is the favor of teaching the Quran, as it is it leads to happiness in this life and the Hereafter, brings the good of both, and guides to the best in them. Al-Shawkani: 5/131.
Question: Surat Ar-Rahman begins by mentioning the teaching of the Quran. Why?

Ar-Rahman Verses 0 - 9

وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُواْ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ ٩

Qatadah said: O son of Adam, be fair to others as you wish to be dealt with fairness, and fulfill your commitments as you like to have the same done to you, as the righteousness of people is established through justice. Al-Qurtubi: 20/118.
Question: This verse contains guidance, what is it?

Al-Qamar Verses 0 - 50

وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٞ كَلَمۡحِۢ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ ٥٠

(And Our command is but one), only once. (Like a glance of the eye), means that Allah's decree upon His creations is faster than a glance of the eye. A glance is a swift look. Al-Baghawi: 20/107.
Question: From your reading of this Surah, give an example of Allah’s swift decree upon denying nations.

Ar-Rahman Verses 14 - 15

خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ ١٤ وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٖ مِّن نَّارٖ ١٥

This is indicative of the noble nature of the essence of the human being who is created from clay and dust, which has the characteristics of stability, gravity, and usefulness, in contrast to the essence of the jinn, namely fire, which has the characteristics of immaturity, foolishness, evil and mischief. Al-Saadi: 829.
Question: This verse indicates the virtue of man in comparison to the jinn. How?
