Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 16

Taking proper measures of protection may benefit a person, if that is not contrary to the divine will and decree, but when the divine will and decree come to pass, then any measures will be to no avail, and every means one thinks could save him will not do so. Al-Saadi: 660.
Question: Does this verse indicate the nullification of means?

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 16

The aim of this verse is to instill awareness of the insignificance of this world to the Muslims, and redirect their ambitions toward the best through which they will attain eternal happiness by following Islamic teachings. Ibn Ashur: 21/291.
Question: This verse contains a lesson for the Muslim to aspire for the Hereafter rather than this worldly life. Explain.

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 18

Meaning: Those who discourage and prevent people from Jihad by their words and actions (who say to their brothers, "Come and join us") are the hypocrites who stayed behind in Al-Madina, and used to say to their relatives and to other hypocrites like them: Come and stay with us in Al-Madina, and abandon Jihad. Ibn Juzay: 2/184.
Question: In this verse and beyond, Allah describes one of the traits of the hypocrites. Mention it.

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 19

(They are indisposed toward you), whether that is physical help, by joining the fight, or financial help, by spending on the cause. So, they do not engage in Jihad with their wealth or with their own selves. (Indisposed toward any good), what is expected of them. This is the worst thing a person can do, to be reluctant to do as he is instructed and to be stingy with his wealth and not spend it in the proper manner, stingy in terms of physical effort and refusing to engage with the enemies of Allah, or call people to the path of Allah, and stingy by refusing to benefit others by means of their position, knowledge, advice, or opinion. Al-Saadi: 661.
Question: List the types of stinginess that are meant by this verse.

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 19

This is a depiction of the way they see; they had the look of a scared and frightened person who stares at many directions in fear of a disaster striking him. Ibn Ashur: 21/297.
Question: This verse describes one of the hypocrites’ traits that appears during times of fear. Mention it.

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 21

The scholars quoted this verse to prove that the Messenger's deeds constitute evidence for Sharia rulings, and that in principle his Ummah is subject to the same rulings as him, unless there is clear evidence to prove that some rulings are applicable to him alone. Al-Saadi: 661.
Question: Are the Prophet's (ﷺ) actions taken as evidence?

Al-Ahzab Verses 0 - 22

This indicates that faith can increase and become strong in accordance with people's circumstances, as the majority of scholars stated: faith can increase and decrease. Ibn Kathir: 3/457.
Question: Does faith increase and decrease? Explain in light of this verse.
