The Fire will cover them from all sides, which is more effective as a physical punishment. Ibn Kathir: 3/404.
Question: The punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet. Why?

This is a form of an emotional punishment upon the souls. Ibn Kathir: 3/404.
Question: Why it will be said to them: "Taste [the punishment] for what you used to do"?

If you are unable to worship your Lord in one land, then leave it and travel to another land where worship is for Allah alone, for places, where one may worship Allah, are vast and spacious, and the Lord is One. Al-Saadi: 634.
Question: What is the point of informing the believers that the earth is spacious?

Death is mentioned here to disparage this worldly life, its gains and fears. Some believers may have thought that migrating from their homes in Makkah would result in their death, or that they would be stricken with hunger, among other things. Allah belittles worldly life and essentially says: Certainly, all of you will die and will be gathered before us; therefore, hasten to the obedience of Allah, migration to Him, and to what pleases Him. Al-Qurtubi: 16/382.
Question: What should be your response to one who says: How can I survive if I leave a land of disobedience in which is my provision?

Allah's promise and description of Paradise to the believers is also meant to console them, and minimize the adversities they face in the cause of Allah -even if it ends in death- in comparison to Allah's bounty and His eternal reward that awaits them in the Hereafter. Ibn Ashur: 21/23.
Question: In light of this verse, explain the insignificance of adversities faced by the believer compared to the great reward that awaits him in the Hereafter.

Meaning: How many a weak creature that does not carry its provision, but Allah provides for it. The aim of this verse is to strengthen the believers' hearts if they fear poverty and hunger when they migrate to other people’s land; that is, just like He provides provisions for weak animals, He will provide for you when you migrate from your homeland.Ibn Juzay: 2/162.
Question: This verse strengthens the believers' hearts and purifies their souls. Explain.

(It is Allah Who provides for them and for you), this equates one who is eager with another who relies on Allah for his provision, one who desires with another who is content, and a cunning person with a helpless one, lest a strong person is not deluded by thinking that he obtains his provision through his strength, nor the helpless thinks that he is deprived due to his weakness. Al-Qurtubi: 16/386.
Question: Is the provision for an avid person increased because of his avidness?
