ﭯ ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ﭳ ﭴ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ
ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ ﭼ ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ ﮁ ﮂ ﮃ ﮄ
ﮅ ١٥ ١٥ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ ﮑ
ﮒ ﮓ ﮔ ١٦ ١٦ ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ
ﮝ ﮞ ١٧ ١٧ ﮠ ﮡ ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ
ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ﮯ
ﮰ ١٨ ١٨ ﯓ ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ
ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧ
ﯨ ﯩ ﯪ ﯫ ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ
١٩ ١٩ ﯵ ﯶ ﯷ ﯸ ﯹ ﯺ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ
ﯿ ﰀ ﰁ ﰂ ﰃ ﰄ ﰅ ﰆ ٢٠ ٢٠
ﰈ ﰉ ﰊ ﰋ ﰌ ﰍ ﰎ ﰏ ﰐ ﰑ ﰒ ٢١ ٢١
وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ١٤
(And this is how We reward those who do good) by worshiping Allah and treating His creation with kindness. We give them knowledge and wisdom commensurate with their good deeds, and this is indicative of Moses' (u) high level of perfection in doing good. Al-Saadi: 613.
Question: The verse indicates the great reward for doing good. Explain.
قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ مُّضِلّٞ مُّبِينٞ ١٥
This proves that human soul is based on good, which is the true nature of mankind. Deviating from good requires unnatural cause, which is the infiltration of satan's temptation into human soul. Ibn Ashur: 20/90.
Question: In view of this verse, what is the basic nature of human soul?
وَدَخَلَ ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيۡنِ يَقۡتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِي مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِي مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيۡهِۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ مُّضِلّٞ مُّبِينٞ ١٥
(Causing his death), he killed him, nevertheless, Moses (u) did not mean to kill the Egyptian, but his fist coincided with the appointed death time for the Egyptian, so he died, which made Moses regretful, and saw that it was satan's stirring his hand, and the anger he felt was tempted by satan. He admitted to what happened, and called it "satan's work." Moses physical strength may contributed to the killing unintentionally. Ibn Atiyah: 4/280.
Question: Moses attributed the killing of the Egyptian to satan despite the fact that he did it. Why?
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِي فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۚ
He admitted wronging himself by committing an unauthorized offense against someone else. Ibn Taimyah: 5/71.
Question: Admission of guilt is a trait of Prophets. Explain.
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِي فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٦
Then, he admitted his guilt and asked for Allah's forgiveness, and Allah forgave him. If it said: Why did he ask for Allah's forgiveness for killing a disbeliever? The answer: He was not given permission to kill him, and that is why, on the Day of Resurrection, Moses (u) will say: I have killed a soul without permission [from Allah]. Ibn Juzay: 2/141.
Question: Why did Moses (u) ask for Allah's forgiveness for killing a disbeliever?
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِي فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٦
Moses (u) regretted striking his fist that ended a human life. His regret prompted him to submit humbly to Allah, and ask for His forgiveness. Qatadah said: By Allah, he knew the way out, and sought Allah’s forgiveness, then he continued to remind himself of his sin despite knowing that he was forgiven, and even on the Day of Resurrection, he will say, "I have killed a soul without permission [from Allah]." So, he considered it a sin, and says, (I have wronged myself, so forgive me), since a Prophet should not kill unless he was commanded to do so, and Prophets are more conscious of their actions than others. Al-Qurtubi: 16/247-248.
Question: Moses considered himself responsible for killing the Egyptian. Why?
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنۡ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرٗا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ ١٧
Meaning: Because of Your favor upon me, I will not help criminals. This was a covenant that Moses made with his Lord. Ibn Juzay: 2/140.
Question: What must the believer do when he commits a sin, then saw Allah's favor of keeping his action hidden from others?
