Ash-Shu'ara Verses 0 - 207

Allah says: Then, came to them the punishment of which We warned them for disbelieving Our verses, and denying Our Messenger. (Shall not avail them), the lengthy life and pleasures We gave them did not avail them, since they did not repent. The pleasures of life did not benefit them; in fact, they ruined them, and increased their sins and crimes, which would not have happened had they not had these pleasures. Al-Tabari: 19/402.
Question: A long life without good deeds leads to demise and punishment. Explain.

Ash-Shu'ara Verses 0 - 213

This was addressed to the Prophet (ﷺ) despite the fact that it was inconceivable that shirk would occur from him (ﷺ), but it was a motivation toward more sincerity. In essence, it means: "Be sincere in the Oneness of Allah until you see none with Him." Moreover, this verse indicates to all people that shirk is so evil and bad that even those who would never do it are forbidden from it. Al-Alusi: 10/131.
Question: What the benefit of forbidding the Prophet (ﷺ) from committing shirk despite the fact that it was inconceivable to occur from him?

Ash-Shu'ara Verses 0 - 214

This does not contravene the command to warn all people, because if a person is instructed to be kind to all people, then it is said to him: Be kind to your relatives, this is emphasizing the importance of kindness to relatives and highlighting the fact that they have a particular right to that. Al-Saadi: 599.
Question: Is it understood from this verse that the Prophet’s (ﷺ) message was limited to his people?

Ash-Shu'ara Verses 215 - 216

This is in order to avoid giving the wrong impression to one who may misunderstand and think that the words (And lower your wing in kindness to the believers) imply approving of everything that they do, so long as they are believers. This notion is warded off by this verse. Al-Saadi: 599.
Question: This term: (If they disobey you) comes after this: (And lower your wing in kindness to the believers). Why?

Ash-Shu'ara Verses 0 - 219

Meaning: Allah sees you praying with others, which indicates the importance of the prayer in congregation. Ibn Juzay: 2/124.
Question: This verse indicates the prayer in congregation. How?

Ash-Shu'ara Verses 0 - 223

(They pass), they receive what is heard. It is said that it means the devils who pass what they hear to the monks; or it means the soothsayers who pass what they hear to the public. (And most of them are liars), the devils, or the soothsayers , since they lie in what they tell about the devils. Ibn Juzay: 2/125.
Question: Where did the lies of the soothsayers and fortunetellers come from?

Ash-Shu'ara Verses 0 - 225

Meaning: They engage in vain talk, and do not trace the ways of truth, since whoever followed the truth and knew that he would be held accountable for what he says, he would ascertain the accuracy of his words, and would never wander aimlessly in every subject with recklessness. Al-Qurtubi: 16/95.
Question: What do you say about one who indulges with others in every subject, engages in vain talk, and does not follow the truth?
