ﮆ ﮇ ٦٧ ٦٧ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ٦٨ ٦٨
ﮏ ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ٦٩ ٦٩ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ
٧٠ ٧٠ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠ ٧١ ٧١ ﮢ ﮣ
ﮤ ﮥ ﮦ ٧٢ ٧٢ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ ٧٣ ٧٣ ﮭ
ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ ٧٤ ٧٤ ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ
ﯙ ٧٥ ٧٥ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ ٧٦ ٧٦ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ
ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ٧٧ ٧٧ ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ﯩ ٧٨ ٧٨ ﯫ ﯬ
ﯭ ﯮ ٧٩ ٧٩ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ٨٠ ٨٠ ﯵ
ﯶ ﯷ ﯸ ٨١ ٨١ ﯺ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ ﯿ
ﰀ ﰁ ٨٢ ٨٢ ﰃ ﰄ ﰅ ﰆ ﰇ ﰈ ٨٣ ٨٣
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ قَالَ أَصۡحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدۡرَكُونَ ٦١ قَالَ كَلَّآۖ إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهۡدِينِ ٦٢
(Moses said), rebuking and directing them to the fact that Allah's plan avails of his own plan. (No) they would not overtake you. (My Lord is with me) by protection and help. (He will guide me) soon to your safety and victory over them. Al-Alusi: 10/84.
Question: Firm faith is a beautiful thing by which Allah keeps the believer steadfast during trials. Explain in light of this verse.
وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٦٩ إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ٧٠
Meaning: Recount to the people, O Muhammad (ﷺ), the story of Abraham. What is meant here is this particular aspect in his life, otherwise, there are many stories about him, but one of the most amazing and significant is this story that speaks of his message, his call to his people, and how he argued with them and proved to them that what they were following was false. (When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"). Al-Saadi: 592.
Question: Allah commanded His Prophet (ﷺ) to recount about a particular aspect of Abraham's life, which was calling his people to Allah. Why?
قَالُواْ بَلۡ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُونَ ٧٤
They gave up on arguing for the ability of their idols to hear, benefit or harm, since all these things are clearly indefensible, and chose instead to rely on the grounds of imitating their fathers. In essence, they were saying: These idols do not hear, benefit, nor harm us, but we found our fathers doing the same thing we are doing, and worshiping them like we do, hence, we followed their example. Al-Alusi: 10/92.
Question: Is imitating the fathers, in doing wrong, an accepted argument on the Day of Resurrection?
أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ ٧٦
Describing the forefathers as (ancient) emphasizes the apathy of following their example, since it is common for nations to consider following the more ancient traditions as indisputable. Ibn Ashur: 19/141.
Question: Why are the forefathers described as “ancient”?
فَإِنَّهُمۡ عَدُوّٞ لِّيٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٧٧
One may say: How are wood, iron, and copper described as enemies to the son of Adam? The meaning of that is: If I worship them in this life, they will be my enemies on the Day of Resurrection, as Allah says, (They have taken gods other than Allah, in order that they may protect them from punishment ` Never! They will deny their worship and will become their enemies) [19:81-82]. Al-Tabari: 19/363.
Question: Despite being inanimate objects, the idols are described as enemies of the son of Adam. Why?
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهۡدِينِ ٧٨ وَٱلَّذِي هُوَ يُطۡعِمُنِي وَيَسۡقِينِ ٧٩ وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ ٨٠ وَٱلَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحۡيِينِ ٨١ وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لِي خَطِيٓـَٔتِي يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ ٨٢
My Lord is the One Who has my benefit and harm, the All-Capable, the All-Sovereign, and to Him belongs this worldly life and the Hereafter. My Lord is not one who when is called does not hear, nor could benefit, or harm. This talk from Abraham was an argument before his people to explain that deity and submission must be only to the One Who has these powers; not to useless harmless objects. Al-Tabari: 19/363.
Question: What are the rational proofs, mentioned by Abraham, for the Lordship of Allah, and falsehood of others?
وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ ٨٠
He attributed illness to himself, and attributed cure to Allah, out of veneration of Allah. Ibn Juzay: 2/119.
Question: This verse shows an etiquette of how should believers deal with Allah. What is it?
