Mujahid said: "He kept every promise he made." Muqatil said: "He promised to wait in a place for a man, and Ishmael stayed in the same place for three days until the man came back to him." Al-Baghawi: 3/91.
Question: Explain the importance of keeping the promise to the Prophets (p).

Ishmael strove to perfect himself, and to perfect others, especially the dearest of people to him, namely his family, because they were more deserving of his call than others. Al-Saadi: 496.
Question: Why were his people singled out for mention in this verse?

Attributing the revelations to the divine name (the Most Merciful) indicates that the revelations are part of His mercy and kindness toward His servants, as He guided them thereby to the truth, made their blind eyes see, saved them from misguidance, and granted them knowledge when they were ignorant. Al-Saadi: 496.

Ibn Masoud (t) was asked about the meaning of neglecting prayer, and he said: "It is the delay in performing prayer until its time has passed." They said, "We considered that abandonment of prayer." He replied, "If they abandoned prayer, then they would become disbelievers." Ibn Taimyah: 4/285.
Question: Explain the risk of delaying prayer beyond its prescribed time.

If they neglected prayer, then they would be prone to neglect other obligatory acts of worship, because prayer is the pillar and foundation of Islam, and it is the best of the servants' deeds. Ibn Kathir: 3/125.
Question: Singling out prayer for mention is an indication of something important. What is it?

Allah refers to Himself as (the Most Merciful), because of what this reward contains of mercy and generosity, such as no eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor has it ever crossed the mind of man. Moreover, attributing it to His mercy is indicative of the abiding nature of its bliss, for it will remain, as long as, His mercy remains, of which it (Paradise) is the outcome and result. Al-Saadi: 497.
Question: What is the benefit of linking the mention of Gardens of Eternity to the divine name (the Most Merciful) in this verse?

(Morning and afternoon), similar to the interval of these two time periods, because there will be no morning or afternoon. Scholars said: In Paradise, there is no night or day because there will be only light. Al-Qurtubi: 13/479.
Question: How will the people of Paradise have their provision, morning and afternoon? Will Paradise have day and night?
