Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 6

There He continues to bestow blessings upon them, sending down His kindness and pardon to people when they are still doing evil and their acts of disobedience are still ascending to Him. They disobey Him but He calls them to repent; they commit offences but He does not deprive them of His blessings and kindness, and if they repent to Him then they are His beloved, because He loves those who repent and He loves those who purify themselves. But if they do not repent, then He tests them with calamities in order to purify them from their sins. Al-Saadi: 413-414.
Question: Explain how Allah's kindness and forgiveness reach His servants despite their wrongdoing.

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 6

Allah is the possessor of forgiveness, pardon, and He hides the mistakes of people despite their wrongdoing and committing errors by night and day. Then, He combined this with mentioning the fact that His punishment is severe, so that hope and fear are evenly balanced [in the hearts]. Ibn Kathir: 3/483.
Question: What is the benefit of mentioning His forgiveness and punishment in one context?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 11

Mujahid said: Every one has an appointed angel to guard him while asleep and when awake from the harm of jinn, mankind and other creatures except from something decreed by Allah, then it will afflict him. Ka'ab Al-Ahbar said: If Allah did not appoint guardian angels to protect you during eating, drinking and when taking your clothes off, the jinn would have snapped you away. Al-Baghawi: 2/515.
Question: Muslims believe in the angels and their assigned functions. What are some of the benefits of this belief?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 11

When the servant knows that the keepers, angels who record the deeds, are constantly with him, he becomes more cautious of committing sins. This is similar to one who is surrounded by honorable servants of a king, and they are appointed to be with him, so in this case, he would never think of committing a sin. Al-Alusi: 13/143.
Question: When one realizes the presence of angels, how does that affect his behavior?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 11

(And when Allah intends for a people ill), a punishment and destruction. (Then it cannot be averted), no one can repel it. (Nor will there be any protector for them besides Him), there is no refuge for them to go to. Al-Baghawi: 2/518.
Question: Can anyone escape the punishment of Allah?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 12 - 13

As He alone is the One Who drives the rain and the clouds for people, in which is the substance of their provision, and as He is the One Who controls all things, and to Him are subjugated the mighty creations that people fear and are disturbed by, and as Allah is mighty in power, then He is the only One Who deserves to be worshiped, with no partner or associate. Al-Saadi: 415.
Question: What does a Muslim benefit from knowing that the mighty creations are submissive to Allah, the Almighty, and that He controls them?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 12

Meaning: Fear of lightening and hope for the rain. When Abdullah Bin Az-Zubair (t) heard the thunder, he would stop talking and say, "Exalted is He whom the thunder exalts with praise of Him - and so do the angels from fear of Him"; and said: "This is a great threat to the people of earth." Al-Baghawi: 2/518.
Question: What did the righteous predecessors do when they heard thunder or saw lightening?
