ﭜ ﭝ ٥٨ ٥٨ ﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭢ ﭣ ﭤ ﭥ ﭦ ﭧ
ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮ ﭯ ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ٥٩ ٥٩
ﭴ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ ﭼ ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ ﮁ
ﮂ ﮃ ﮄ ﮅ ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ
ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ ٦٠ ٦٠ ﮒ ﮓ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ
ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠ ﮡ ﮢ
٦١ ٦١ ﮤ ﮥ ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ
ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ٦٢ ٦٢ ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ
ﯗ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ
ﯡ ٦٣ ٦٣ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ﯩ ﯪ ﯫ
ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ﯴ ﯵ ﯶ ﯷ
ﯸ ﯹ ﯺ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ ﯿ ﰀ ﰁ ﰂ ﰃ
ﰄ ﰅ ﰆ ﰇ ﰈ ﰉ ﰊ ﰋ ﰌ ﰍ
ﰎ ﰏ ﰐ ﰑ ﰒ ﰓ ﰔ ﰕ ﰖ ﰗ ﰘ ٦٤ ٦٤
وَإِذَا نَادَيۡتُمۡ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوٗا وَلَعِبٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَعۡقِلُونَ ٥٨
The polytheists and disbelievers who opposed Muslims were attacking their religion, mocking it, belittling it, and looking down on it, especially the prayer which is the most prominent characteristic of Muslims and the noblest of their acts of worship. When the Muslims called to prayer, they mocked it because of their immaturity and deep ignorance. Otherwise, if they were reasonable at all, they would have submitted to it and would have realized that it is better than all righteous deeds that a person could do. Al-Saadi: 237.
Question: Disdaining and mocking religious acts indicate something. What is it?
وَإِذَا نَادَيۡتُمۡ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوٗا وَلَعِبٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَعۡقِلُونَ ٥٨
The reason for ridiculing the religion is foolishness. Ibn Juzay: 1/242.
Question: What do we learn from this verse?
وَإِذَا نَادَيۡتُمۡ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوٗا وَلَعِبٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَعۡقِلُونَ ٥٨
(That is because they are a people who do not use reason), this holds disdain for them because there is nothing in calling to prayer that entails ridicule; therefore, only silly minded people would do that. Ibn Ashur: 6/242.
Question: Athan and prayer are of great importance to Allah. Explain in light of this verse.
قُلۡ يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ هَلۡ تَنقِمُونَ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنۡ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبۡلُ وَأَنَّ أَكۡثَرَكُمۡ فَٰسِقُونَ ٥٩
Meaning: It would make more sense for you, defiantly disobedient, to keep quiet. If you were not defiantly disobedient, which is not the case, and you resented us, it would have been less sinful than resenting us while you are indeed defiantly disobedient. Al-Saadi: 237.
Question: A sign of foolishness of someone is having two traits. What are they?
لَوۡلَا يَنۡهَىٰهُمُ ٱلرَّبَّٰنِيُّونَ وَٱلۡأَحۡبَارُ عَن قَوۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡإِثۡمَ وَأَكۡلِهِمُ ٱلسُّحۡتَۚ لَبِئۡسَ مَا كَانُواْ يَصۡنَعُونَ ٦٣
This verse is a proof that one who does not forbid evil is like the one who commits it. It delivers a sharp rebuke to scholars who do not enjoin what is good nor forbid what is evil. Al-Qurtubi: 8/81.
Question: Knowledge alone is not enough, so what should come with it?
وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ مَغۡلُولَةٌۚ
If Allah were to impose blame on the Jews who said that statement and others of their ilk, for some of what they said, they would have been destroyed and doomed in this world. But they say these things, while Allah shows forbearance, overlooks and gives respite, but He never forgets about them. Al-Saadi: 238.
Question: How can we infer from this verse the great mercy of Allah, the Almighty?
كُلَّمَآ أَوۡقَدُواْ نَارٗا لِّلۡحَرۡبِ أَطۡفَأَهَا ٱللَّهُۚ وَيَسۡعَوۡنَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَسَادٗاۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ ٦٤
Kindling a fire refers to their attempt to start a war, and its extinguishment refers to forsaking them by Allah. This could be a description of their ancestors or those who were at the time of the Prophet (ﷺ) and onward; therefore, this was informing about the unseen and a glad tidings to Muslims. Ibn Juzay: 1/244.
Question: State briefly an incident where the Jews were forsaken by Allah during the Prophet (ﷺ) time, and another incident during recent times.
