As-Saffat Verses 0 - 158

وَجَعَلُواْ بَيۡنَهُۥ وَبَيۡنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ نَسَبٗاۚ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمَتِ ٱلۡجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ١٥٨

Meaning: These polytheists claimed that there was a kinship between Allah and the jinn. But the jinn knew that they would be brought before Allah so that He would requite them as humiliated slaves. If there was any kinship between them and Him, they would not be like that. Al-Saadi: 708.
Question: What is the aim of stating that the jinn will be brought for reckoning?

As-Saffat Verses 161 - 163

فَإِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ١٦١ مَآ أَنتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ ١٦٢ إِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ١٦٣

These verses indicate that devils cannot misguide anyone except whom Allah decreed His misguidance, but if Allah knew that he would be guided, He would have placed prevention between him and them. Al-Qurtubi: 18/112.
Question: Can satan misguide you whenever he wants? What do you learn from that?

As-Saffat Verses 0 - 164

وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ ١٦٤

Meaning: Each one of us has a designated position in the heavens in which he worship Allah. Ibn Abbas said: There is not a span in the heavens except at which an angel is praying or glorifying Allah. Al-Baghawi: 3/681.
Question: Describe the angels’ state in their worship.

As-Saffat Verses 0 - 165

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ ١٦٥

Meaning: Those who stand lined up in rows for worship, and that is why Muslims are enjoined to straighten their rows for prayer to be like the angels. No other followers of any religion pray in rows except Muslims. Ibn Juzay: 2/244.
Question: The angels are the most powerful among all creatures, yet they are most humble before Allah. Explain in light of this verse.

As-Saffat Verses 165 - 166

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ ١٦٥ وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ ١٦٦

Abu Nadhrah said: When Iqamah (starting time) of prayer was called, Omar used to face the people and say: O people, straighten your rows, as Allah wants for you the guidance of the angels, (and we are indeed those who stand lined up in rows ` And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah); straighten your rows; you, so and so, come forward, you, so and so, go back. After straightening the rows, he would go forward to lead them in prayer. Al-Tabari: 21/128.
Question: The believers follow the example of the angels in an act of veneration of Allah. Explain.

As-Saffat Verses 0 - 180

سُبۡحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ١٨٠

Having mentioned in this Surah many of the vile things that they said and attributed to Him, Allah now declares Himself to be far above all that, as He says: (Exalted is your Lord). Al-Saadi: 709.
Question: Allah ends this Surah with the exaltation of Himself. Why?

As-Saffat Verses 0 - 182

وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ١٨٢

(And all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds): Allah says, All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the prominent beings, jinn and mankind, with all sincerity to Him and no one else, for every blessing upon His servants is from Him. Therefore, all praise be solely to Him without partners just as all blessings upon them come solely from Him without partners. Al-Tabari: 21/134.
Question: All praise must be solely to Allah, the Most High, for all the blessings. Why?
