ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ ٨ ٨ ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ ﮁ ٩ ٩ ﮃ ﮄ ﮅ
ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ١٠ ١٠ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ
ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ﮓ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ ١١ ١١ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ
١٢ ١٢ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠ ١٣ ١٣ ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ ١٤ ١٤
ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ ﮬ ١٥ ١٥ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ
ﯔ ﯕ ١٦ ١٦ ﯗ ﯘ ١٧ ١٧ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ
١٨ ١٨ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ١٩ ١٩ ﯧ ﯨ
ﯩ ﯪ ﯫ ٢٠ ٢٠ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ٢١ ٢١
ﯵ ﯶ ﯷ ﯸ ﯹ ﯺ ﯻ ﯼ ٢٢ ٢٢ ﯾ ﯿ
ﰀ ﰁ ﰂ ﰃ ﰄ ٢٣ ٢٣ ﰆ ﰇ ﰈ ﰉ ٢٤ ٢٤
وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفّٗا ١
The angels line up in rows in heaven like the people on earth line up for the prayer. Moreover, it is said the angels spread out their wings in heaven and keep still until Allah commands them of what He wills. Al-Qurtubi: 18/6.
Question: How do the angels show humility and submission to Allah?
إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمۡ لَوَٰحِدٞ ٤ رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ ٥
Meaning: He is the Creator of these things, Who provides for them and controls them; just as He has no partner in His Lordship over them, so too He has no partner in His divinity. Allah often affirms the Oneness of His divinity by affirming the Oneness of His Lordship, because it is indicative of it, and the polytheists themselves also affirmed it, so, He proves to them the soundness of what they denied on the basis of what they affirm. Al-Saadi: 700.
Question: Allah mentions the Oneness of His Lordship after the Oneness of His divinity. Why?
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلۡكَوَاكِبِ ٦
Allah singles out the nearest heaven for mention because it is within our vision range, and the fact that the protection from devils is confined to it. Ibn Atiyah: 4/466.
Question: Allah singles out the nearest heaven for mention for two reasons. What are they?
بَلۡ عَجِبۡتَ وَيَسۡخَرُونَ ١٢
Qatadah said: The Prophet (ﷺ) was astonished at the misguidance of the sons of Adam after the revelation of the Quran; that was because the Prophet (ﷺ) thought that whoever hears the Quran, will believe in it, but when the polytheists heard the Quran, they ridiculed it and did not believe in it, so he was astonished at that. Al-Baghawi: 3/656.
Question: What prompted the Prophet's (ﷺ) astonishment at the disbelief in the Quran by the polytheists?
قُلۡ نَعَمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ ١٨
They will become humiliated and disdained because when they see what they have denied, they will inevitably become disgraced. Al-Qurtubi: 18/22.
Question: What is the cause of the disgrace of disobedient people on the Day of Resurrection?
۞ٱحۡشُرُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ وَأَزۡوَٰجَهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡبُدُونَ ٢٢ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهۡدُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٢٣
Gather them to stand for reckoning and recompense. (And their fellows): Their followers and the likes of them. Qatadah and Al-Kalbi said: All those who had done the same as the wrongdoers did; so, the people who drank intoxicants will be together, and the people who committed adultery will be together. Al-Baghawi: 3/657.
Question: What will be the company of the person on the Day of Resurrection? What do we learn from that?
وَقِفُوهُمۡۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسۡـُٔولُونَ ٢٤
When they are driven to Hellfire, they will be stopped at the bridge set over it, and will it be said: (Stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned). Ibn Abbas said: They will be questioned about all of their words and actions. Al-Baghawi: 3/657.
Question: Where will they be stopped before Allah? What will they be questioned about on the Day of Resurrection?
