Ibn Masoud said: The beetle is almost punished in his hole because of the sins of the son of Adam. Yahya bin Abi Kathir said: A man enjoined what is right and prohibited what is evil, so, another man said to him: Take care of your own self, as the wrongdoer does not harm but himself. Abu Huraira replied: You lied, by Allah, other than whom there is no god; then said: By Him, in Whose Hand my soul is, the bustard dies of hunger in its nest due to the wrongdoer’s action. Al-Qurtubi: 17/401-402.
Question: Do the sins of people have effects on animals?

This is a reminder to them that they should not misconstrue the respite as an inability to punish them, or contentment of what they are doing; after all, it was they who said: (O Allah, if this is indeed the truth from You, then rain down upon us stones from the heaven or bring upon us a painful punishment) [8:32]. Allah informs them that the timing of His punishment is tied to His wisdom that takes into account the interests of other nations, or the preservation of the next generations. Ibn Ashur: 22/239.
Question: Delaying the punishment of the polytheists is not a sign of their true ways. How does this verse show this meaning?

Indeed the holy Quran is the strongest evidence that has remained down throughout the ages, of the truth of the message of the Messenger (ﷺ). All the evidence of the Quran is evidence that supports the message of Muhammad (ﷺ). Al-Saadi: 692.
Question: What is the strongest evidence of the Prophet’s (ﷺ) Message?

Allah protected it by His might from change and alteration, and by means of it He granted mercy to His servants that would stay with them until it brings them to the realm of His mercy. Hence the verse ends with these two divine honorable names, (the Almighty, the Most Merciful). Al-Saadi: 692.
Question: The verse ends with these two Holy Names, (the All-Mighty) and (Most Merciful). Why?

Meaning: Allah has given us this position and status out of His grace, blessing, and mercy, for our good deeds were not equivalent to this. Ibn Kathir: 3/535.
Question: Can a person enter Paradise based solely on his deeds? Explain in light of this verse.

The legacy left behind by man, whether it is good or evil, will be recompensed for it. A good legacy such as taught knowledge, or written book. A bad legacy, such as a position of authority given by him to a wrongdoer, or a distraction that turned people away from the remembrance of Allah. this applies to every good or bad deed that is emulated by others. Al-Qurtubi: 17/420.
Question: It is important that you leave a good legacy after your death. Why? What is the consequence of leaving a bad legacy?

This refers to their legacy of good or evil, of which they were the cause during their lifetimes and after their deaths. This highlights the high status of one who calls people to Allah and guides them to His path by all possible means, and the low status of one who calls people to evil and leads others therein; the latter is one of the worst of people, who is guilty of the worst crime and gravest sin. Al-Saadi: 693.
